    WarrantyPlus

Kawasaki has just launched a pan European extended warranty programme
called WarrantyPlus increasing the current manufacturer warranty for up
to two further years. The new scheme is also transferable to subsequent
owners of the machine during the period covered.

WarrantyPluscan be obtained from authorised Kawasaki road bike dealers at
any time during the first year of ownership of any new Kawasaki road
motorcycle, imported and distributed by Kawasaki Motors UK.

Rather than being a separate product the new WarrantyPlus scheme, which
covers both parts and labour for any agreed claim, offers an extension of
the standard warranty cover. It also has the benefit of unlimited mileage
protection and no limit on claims - assuming the machine has been
    maintained according to manufacturer recommendations.

The undoubted appeal and peace of mind of such a manufacturer backed
scheme is underpinned by an extremely competitive pricing structure. As
an example a full twelve months WarrantyPlus cover for a machine over
750cc is just £160.00 including VAT. The scheme is available for one and
two years for Kawasaki machines under or over 750cc.

Pricing as of 1 November 2005

    Under 750cc 12 months £135 inc. VAT
    Under 750cc 24 months £165 inc. VAT

    Over 750cc 12 months £160 inc. VAT
    Over 750cc 24 months £210 inc. VAT

As it's just announced, I'd think it was a little early to say. I'm glad
to know about it though. I turned down an 1/2/3 year extended (RAC
backed) warranty when I bought my new Kawasaki the other week. This
Kawasaki backed one is cheaper, especially for 2 years, and as my bike
is 748cc it just creeps into the even lower, much cheaper, price
bracket. I'll probably buy it, and I've even got a year to do so (RAC
wanted me to pay up prior to taking delivery of the bike).

From past experience, the warranty on my cars has certainly been useful
in year 3, and would have been in year 4. I'm not likely to keep the
bike any longer than that (though I guess it might get kept as a second
bike). What kind of average yearly repair bills should I expect on a
    bike?
