Keeping Bike in the House?

I keep my motorbike in the house and regularly maintain it in the kitchen.

Would I have a problem with my home insurance company if there was a fire?

    You fucking pikey.

Actually I am married and the house is quite big. The back kitchen extends
right back and there is loads of space but the garage space is taken by my
    landy and audi TT.

However does this have anything at all to do with my question?

If it burnt the paper work and you couldn't remember the ins. co's name then
    yes, I'd have thought so.

    Well of course not. NAHAY?

    My *guess* is this:

Your home insurance will have a maximum value for a single item,
which almost certainly won't cover your bike.

If you tell them you need to cover a motorbike stored inside the house
then they'll either tell you to sod off, or hike your premuim to such
an extent that it won't be worth it.

    You could phone and ask.

  9. Here's an idea, call it radical but...maybe you could ask your home
    insurance company?

    It's wild, I know.

heh. Well, the first warning should be fairly nice IMO. Admittedly I
was possibly a little *too* nice, but there you go.

I know that I for one, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, will sleep more
    soundly knowing that
this newsgroup is being so well protected from the evil that is top posting.

Bet you were a prefect at school. Eh, eh? Milk monitor then. Are you a
    fire warden at work?
Health and safety representative. Go on, you know you want to tell...
