    Good afternoon.

This is a reminder and revised itinerary for the proposed Cinque Ports
    run.

After the snow has finished (starting 10:30am Saturday 25th March
finishing mid-late afternoon?) I would like to propose a Kentish
Kontingent Gathering for a Cinque Ports tour with an itinerary looking
    something like this:

Start: 10:30ish - after Breakfast in The Café.

    Rye
    - Cinque Port supportive Ancient Town - Possible brief visit to
Winchelsea which was a Cinque Port supportive Ancient Town too.

    Camber
    - 'Cause it's on the way - nice road

    Lydd
    - Limb of New Romney

    Dungeness
    - 'Cause I like it - lunch?

    New Romney
    - Primary corporate Cinque Port

    Hythe (via Dymchurch)
    - Primary corporate Cinque Port

    Saltwood
    - Possible stop off in Brockhill Country Park if can be
    bothered/weather permitting.

    Folkestone (via Saltwood & A20)
    - Cinque Ports Federation Limb.

    Dover (Via Alkham Valley Road)
    - Primary corporate Cinque Port.
    - Divert to Samphire Hoe for trippy traffic light & tunnel-through
    cliff road experience.
    - Something drink or munch here before deciding what to do next.

Deal (Cinque Ports Federation Limb), Sandwich (Primary corporate
Cinque Port), Ramsgate (Limbs of Sandwich) and Margate (Limbs of
Dover) are all possibilities but I'm unfamiliar with that area of Kent
so I can't suggest any reasonable roads to travel on and I'm not sure
    if they're worth visiting.

Continuing to travel west is mandatory from Samphire Hoe because of
the A20/M20 which brings up the possibility of travelling to
Canterbury on either the A260 (Hawkinge, Densole, Selstead, Denton and
A2) or if travelling west on the A20/M20 come off at junction 11 and
    do one of the following:

    1) Travel to Canterbury on B2068 (Stone Street) which is a Roman style
straight (look at it on a map) and very fast stretch of road that goes
on for miles, but it can be a bit boring. If you want to add a bit of
cun'ree in you could snip half of it off and go via the Sixmile Garage
or Stelling Minnis and ending up in Lower Hardres before re-joining
the B2068 towards the end or going via Bridge.

    2) Travel to Canterbury via Posting, Lyminge, Elham, Barham, etc.)
    before joining the A2.

    3) Or do something completely different. If JackH is willing I
understand that the mid-Kent and Canterbury areas are his roads.

I do suggest ending the tour in Canterbury as that gives good road
links back to the rest of the world and also for those of us who have
done it before, we could take the A28 from Canterbury through Ashford
to Tenterden (Cinque port connections ahoy!) and I'm sure prawn could
come up with some decent roads around that area (perhaps a road with
certain military connections near Rye could alter the route order
entirely and would be well worth it?)

I commend the route to this Parliament. [Applause]

Ahead of our time, are we?
Sounds like a plan. I may even be able to make it unless I've got the
misfortune to have to work on that weekend. Don't think that's the
case but I can be arsed to check my diary at the moment.

I'm interested. I'd need some clarification on the start point.
Who's bringing all the gear to fix your bike?

Might be available subject to work commitments.
Nice to see I have a 80 mile journey *before* the "tour" starts and another
    80 miles back after.

It wouldn't really be a traditional Cinque Ports run if we started 80
miles inland, would it? I'm no expert in sailing as a whole but I
understand that water is a key part of it.

I remember that the last BotM run started somewhere around the Clacket
Lane Services at your request which is over 60 miles from me and it
finished in Rye which isn't all that close to me either 30 miles away.
I also had to leave Rye early to start a lengthy journey to London but
    joined in anyway.

I assure you that I didn't pick the location just to be 80 miles away.
I picked Rye as it's the spiritual home of the BotM Bashers and a
    jolly nice place to be.

I'm going to have a fair ride before and after too. I may be in Kent
but it looks like London out of the window.

Your perceptive skills of needing water to partake in sailing are to be
commended, unless that is you intend sailing your bike into the water I feel
the sailing aspect is null and voif in this instance.
Clackett was chosen as a convenient meeting point to travel to Mucks and
later into Rye to see rawn IIRC and FWIW the distance travelled by me, and
others form North of the Medway was around the same for the journey home as
    for you toward London.
Rye is a nice place to go, and on a sunny day nothing could be better than
sunning oneself on Camber Sands nearby watching the tide roll in and/or out.

Maybe a run later in the spring toward "Flatlands" on the north side of the
Thames to visit the elderly ones frequenting the Billericay areas and the
like with a run to Sarfend to folow.

I think there are also some roads that connect the various ports
    together.
    Oh, CIDER.
That's good. I never go to those areas.
