I took a car home Friday, in anticipation of the weather. I got 400
yards this morning and came home.

The snow doesn't bother me much, but the A690 into Durham is a car park.

It's over the level of the kerbs here, I was going to turn around in a
side street near me, except I could't see where it was!

  4. No snow in North London yet but I gather we're in for a bit. It looked a
bit snowy up north on the news this morning. Brrrr

Yes, similar here. We have almost a foot of the stuff in our garden
here, Barnard Castle (half an hour away by car) has none.
I would have been alright except for a jacknifed lorry at Framwellgate,
it's caused a traffic jam back to Crook on the A690 - about 10 miles.
That is of course the bit of road I want to use to get to work.

A teacher at the school phoned in, he'd been stuck at a village about 3
    miles away for 2 hours.

Needless to say, I phoned work today and told them where I'll be :)

  6. Who remembers going to work on a bike in the Winter of 1962 - 1963 ?

  11. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Biker2 \(Threadstopper\)" <steve
at pvl dot co dot uk> saying something like:
Pah; I walked it every morning. To school, anyway.
    Younger, you mean.

I got a go-kart for Christmas. Couldn't use it until fucking Easter.
I have a b/w photo of me sitting forlornly on said go-kart, wearing my
entire wardrobe and looking right pissed off (well, the visible bits -
eyes and nose - speak volumes) on the driveway with 2m+ piles of snow
either side and a big hump of snow which contains the garage behind
    me.

We have clouds, little fluffy white ones. It is odd though seeing them
    going the wrong way.

It's been pissing down 8 straight days here. Plus, the SV went into the
shop because it decided it didn't want to start anymore.
