A friend's just had her third KTM stolen in 18 months.

    It's a 525 EXC:
    Reg - CN54 WXR
    VIN - VBKRCA4065M433951

    Distinguishing features:
Lowered (she's 5 feet tall, so it's been dramatically lowered)
    Slight tear in seat cover
No plate/indicators as it had been stripped down for motocross
    Scuffs on both hand guards

It was stolen between 4am and 7am this morning. The bike was in a locked
garage, chained to a ground anchor, had a disc lock on it and was fitted
    with an immobiliser alarm.

The bike was nicked from east London.

If any of you see someone riding a KTM that looks like the suspension's
fucked (it's that low) or hear of any (too) cheap bits going, let me
    know, please.

Don't you think that "parading" the bikes ouside the house is a bit like
advertising? Akin to telling the scrotes "Here's a couple of theivable items
    for you"?

I never leave my bikes outside the house where any **** can see them.
Straight in the garage unless it's locked, then I have to **** about, but
    still...

How is having the garage door open 'parading'?

I bet she's sick of these thefts and would appreciate a change of
    crime.

Those bikes in the photo were being "paraded" for photographic purposes more
than it being a case of just having a garage door open. It only takes one
**** to see you taking pics of them to know they're likely to be good bikes
and that they'll probably be in the garage later on.

So, how do people enter and leave the garage? They can be seen and then be
    exposed to theft.

If you want to be a thick ****, don't let me stop you. Leave your bike
outside where anyone can see where it lives, have it on display so you can
take pictures of it at home, I really don't give a flying ****.
