Hi .My son has a 1985 KX80 e3 and it runs well but the gearbox oil seems to
disappear from the box and end up dribbling through the exhaust pipe as a
black gunge and covers the right-hand side swingarm. I know the cylinder is
a sealed section , is the oil making it's way in and if so where, is it the
crank seal? For that is the only thing I can think of, for the oil to make
its way through to the exhaust pipe. The bike starts well and runs well so
it seems it is not burning the oil. Does anyone have an idea which will
    help. Thanks Robert

Having been down this road before....

Don't spend any money on a 20 year old bike. Keep putting oil in it until it
stops working, then bury it in a big hole...

    hi
there is a way to test the crank seals.put castrol R in the gearbox after
draining the oil out.if it is burling the oil from the gearbox you will be
able to smell the R burning.

No, spend it all on the 30yo ones instead.
