It was a fun trip. I left work at 2pm on Friday and met my Dad in Carson
City at about 6:30. We left there at 6 in the morning and rode Hwy 50
all the way to Delta, Utah, about 500 miles (The pictures of the bikes
in front of the saloon were in Eureka, Nv). Dad said that he was a
little tired, but OK. The sunrise pictures were taken in Delta. We left
Delta just after dawn and met my brother-in-law at Mom's Diner in
Salina, Utah for breakfast on Sunday. We split up afterwards with Dad
and Steve taking the freeway (I-70) and me taking back roads through
Capitol Reef National Park (all those rock pictures). I arrived at the
lake about a half hour after Dad and Steve.
As you can see from the pictures, we had a lot of fun on the lake. I
should be able to add more pictures later when I gather the pictures
that everyone else took. We had a ton of fun on one of those tubes that
    you tow behind the speedboat.
We turned the boats in on Friday morning and after lunch at the Anasazi
Restaurant we went our separate ways. I got as far as Bryce Canyon on
Friday night. On Saturday I rode over to Cedar City for breakfast and
then on to Hwy 56 to Panaca, Nevada. The south wind was very strong and
I had to ride at an angle all the way. I then went north on Hwy 93
through Pioche to Ely. I could see a lot of clouds to the west and it
was getting cooler. I caught some light rain and even a few snow flakes
coming into Ely. Heading west on Hwy 50 I hit some more light rain and
some snow flurries. I stopped for lunch in Eureka, had a nice Ortega
Chicken sandwich. On to Austin and more gas and light snow flurries. The
first pass after Austin it got really nasty and I soon realized that I
was riding into a blizzard, the snow was really sticking to the bike's
windshield and fairing. I could barely see a hundred yards down the road
and decided to stop and clear the snow off and take a few pictures.
Finally got through the storm after about 15-20 miles and it was fairly
nice from there into Carson City. Leaving Carson City at 5:00am, I
headed over Carson Pass and about froze my butt off. The on board
thermometer recorded 14 degrees at the highest elevation!! Made it into
Jackson for breakfast and a defrosting. Pulled into the driveway at home
at 9:45am. Had a GREAT time!!
