Lane splitting

  1. Just got a letter from the National Transport Commission ref Rule 151a.

    Because of 'disquiet in the motorcycle community' it has been withdrawn from
    the package and referred to the ARRMG for resolution.

    I guess we now have to keep an eye on them.

    It is a bit typical of anything quasi-political to suggest that it was
    withdrawn as a result of disquiet in the community, rather than to admit
    that they just didn't think about it at all in the first place when they
    were compiling their recommendations. If they can get this so wrong..
    what else are they getting wrong?? Anyhow it's great news and nice to
    some tangible results can emerge from a few hundred people spending a
    few minutes at a keyboard.

  6. ARRMG = Australian Road Rules Maintenance Group - who designed the road
    rules package for the NTC in the first place .
