Round at next doors for drinkies, his missus asks when am I going to take her out on t' bike. A brief trying on of the comedy "funky" leathers ensued and we agreed on 11.00am this morning. I am not too used to pillions, so having a 50 something lady gripping my midriff was quite daunting. Anyhoo, off we set, and after a few minutes of settling in much beanage ensued. We hooned around the Oxon / Northants area with scant regard for the law, which was quite fun. Upon arriving home she announced that middle aged ladies should also be allowed mid life crises, and had the most shit eating grin that one could imagine. Excellent. When I get pressed to give a pillion ride to a newbie I like to clip very close to hedges (I live in farming country) - it gives an elevated speed experience and can create squeaks of joy/fright without increasing risk. Another good one (for squeaking) is to lock the back wheel for a foot or so on slightly gravelly/muddy junctions at low speeds. John
