My copy is on a train somewhere in the South-East. Can anyone tell me
which back protectors were the recommended ones?

Dunno about Ride, but I'd recommend a Forcefield.

Forcefield or Knox Ricochet, like mine. I tested my Knox Stowaway three
times at least and I'm still walking, so I decided time had come to
replace it with another Knox as they'd served me well.

Thanks for that. Backs up Catman and Loz.
Yeah, I remember reading the testing method and each review. And then
just left the mag on the train...

I'm pretty chuffed with my T-Pro Forcefield. Take from that what you
    will.

KC series then. Ricochet Race is the new one that I have. They don't
    make the KCs any more.
