Laurel and Hardys

  1. At one of my medicals for diving the doc suggested I loose some weight.
I pointed out that although I agreed with him, I would look like a bean
pole if I got down to the "ideal" weight and a BMI of 21. He agreed and
pointed out that statistically the lowest mortality band was a BMI of 24
    to 26.
    ie they live longer.

There is hope for me yet!

Conveniently side-stepped by a lot of "healthcare professionals", it
would seem, possibly to keep within the ever-tightening NHS budgets
    and targets.
Without the extra tonnage, many years ago and once I got past the
painfully thin early to mid teens, the phrase "brick shithouse" used
to be heard in reference to my build (30" waist, 46" chest).

I guess that is still lurking inside, somewhere... except the "brick"
    part went away and hid.

But then, it's just a basic guide for normal people rather than
sportsmen and others with higher than normal amounts of muscle.

  8. The wet suit stretches (a bit) the dry suit doesn't and I'm not buying
another one. An O3 2-100 costs too much.

I think <Joey Deacon> would be more appropriate.
