Yukio Kagayama has broken a collar bone in practice for the Suzuka 300
Km (is this the Suzuka 8 hour?) So Lavilla is taking his place for this
weekend's Thruxton BSB meeting. Even though the Rizla Suzukis are
extremely competitive I think he's going find it tough going.

I watched the Mondello park round of BSB on Sunday night. The contrast
with WSB couldn't be more graphic. Mondello is a nasty tight, twisty,
bumpy circuit. The racing was superb with Rutter, Reynolds, Smart and
Richards very close for much of the races. The Kawasakis were clearly
set up loose but were also incredible on the brakes going really deep
into the turns and still getting it turned. Real racing rather than the
    processions that WSB has become.

Thruxton is always good value, the speed and the once per lap hairpin
let people bunch up. And the width of the circuit (while flat out and
leant over) means there are lots of different lines and passing
    possibilities.
