I have a 2000 Nighthawk 750 with 3000 miles on it. The front left
crankcase (gallery) plug is leaking oil. It was leaking about a drop
every minute or so before I replaced the crush washer. Now it is
leaking a drop of oil every 2 or 3 seconds while the motor is running.
I even wrapped teflon tape on the plug but it is still leaking. This is
one of the plugs with the allen wrench head, about 3/4" in diameter.

Does anyone know what to do ?

    Thanks,

It's yearning to be a Harley. Next thing will be a mirror or foot peg that
    falls off.

  3. As with any leaky orifice the first order is to remove the offenders and
inspect the mating surfaces... carefully look at the plug... the
washer... the crankcase for the slightest blemish in the machined
surfaces... remove or replaced as needed...

Now if the leak persist your likely candidate is a flaw in the casting
itself... pin holes are a normal development during the casting process
when bubbles fail to escape... and if it happened on a monday... quality
control may have missed it... you understand...

I had a small but persistent oil leak coming from Mr.RC45s timing access
cap... I sealed and resealed 10 different ways before I uncovered a pin
hole flaw in the casting... see pic...

Ah, just what I was looking for ! I ordered two new bolts and four
new washers. The story moves on...

    Thanks,
