If you do come your copy I'd be interested - I'm sure I can convert it to
    MP3.

AIUI Portuguese and Gallago (sp?) are very similar. Gallicia is the only
part of Spain I've visited that I really liked.

  4. I think the accent's similar, but isn't gallego (galego) a celtic
    language?

For Cab's theory to work, there would have to have been some
geopolitical separation between Spain and Portugal, to make the latter
move away from the mother language's 'purity'.

'Portuguese belongs to the West Iberian branch of the Romance languages,
and it has special ties with the following members of this group:
€ Galician and the Fala, its closest relatives. See below.
€ Spanish, the major language closest to Portuguese. (See also
    Differences between Spanish and Portuguese.)
€ Mirandese, another West Iberian language spoken in Portugal.
€ Judeo-Portuguese and Judeo-Spanish, languages spoken by Sephardic
Jews, which remained close to Portuguese and Spanish.'

FIIK, but Gallicia has some awesome biking roads :) not that I've ridden
them but just looking at them from the coach made me want to return on
    two wheels. One day...

Aargh. I have the following corrupted 'lyrics' rattling round in my
    head:

    # I think I'm learning Portugese
    # I think I'm learning Portugese
    # I really think so...

You've clearly never met the gorgeous Mrs. Cab then. She's a native
Spaniard too, and I'd suggest therefore that Cab's information is a
damn sight more likely to be accurate than that of someone who took
    some Spanish lessons once.

As in fact it is, as anyone with even a vague understanding of romance
    languages would know.

Have you ever considered breeding with Des to try to produce a
perfectly balanced arsehole with a chip on each shoulder?

  12. I don't understand why people need to argue the point about what's
similar and what isn't. That includes me. But here goes:

    Bran Flakes.

    It's identical!!!

On the written word, no question.

Mind you, one thing I've thought that may make a difference, is where
you come from in Spain as dialects would probably have some influence.

    No worries :)
There must be some system date issue. I mean, at the moment I am Spanish
(Español) and some ancestor of mine was Hispanic in the times of the Roman
empire. May be 08 didn't mean 2008. Does your regional configuration setup
show aureus, denarius and sestertius in the currencies entry?

Delirant, isti Britani birota automataria aurigae [1][2][3]

[1] Yes, "birota automataria" is latin for "motorcycle" according to latest
latin dictionary published by the Vatican.
[2] Famous sentence of ancient frog Obelix.
[3] So UKRM in Latin should be BBAA?
