  2. I'd rather have it and not need it.

  3. My armoured jackets feel like a second skin. They are built for bike riding.
I reckon my helmet impedes me more and there is no way I would get on a bike
    without one.

I am home. Isn't the interthingy wonderfull. Two days a week, get up, brush
teeth, turn on Capo machine, goto study, turn on computer. Still waiting for
the netphone so I can be on an internal office extension at home.

Did you order it off the US site? $800US is a lot of cash.

You can even have yellow with yellow! Hey Cam....

When I started riding few people wore helmets, those that did were
considered to be a little strange.

Just remember your helmet passes the 20km/h impact Australian Standard.

You've got one? Did you buy it in Perth?

  9. I gotta agree with you. Nothing beats being switched on and having a well
    maintained bike.

  10. Got my wires crossed. Thought you were talking about armoured stuff not
aerostitch specifically. I've got a Joe Rocket leather jacket and an RST
summer jacket both with armour. Both fit really well but I must just have one
    of those builds.

  11. I say go for the leather jacket, Will; you'll get a better quality product
at a much lower price, without some snot-nosed kid leering at you saying
"these are genuine" (just because they've told the Bangladeshi housewives to
sew a brand label onto them).

    Just make sure he doesn't disconnect your battery when you're not looking;
don't want that "general warning" lamp to come on again ;-)

Yes I did. I paid A$700 for the made to measure Tiger Angel, so about
A$940 landed seemed reasonable for a full suit if it fitted, which it did.

    I got a good exchange rate :)

Seems a lot in some term , last time I was in Hong Kong a handmade suite
ready in a day cost less .Still if you are going to slide the best
    protection might be worthwhile

When secondary safety is your primary focus then you are NOT being sensible.
(Although your attitude is quite common)

I'll stick with the "not bouncing" thanks!

Who said anything about primary focus ?

Now when was the last time you bounced ? IIRC it was coming back from PI. I
guess the secondary gear like helmets and jacket didnt help .

I was wearing a full Dianese racing suit when rear ended at a round-a-bout
some years ago. I was very happy that I was well protected at that time, but
in the heat of a Queensland Summer good air-flow kit is the only option.
Although I have ridden in a t-shirt on many occassions at those time my
    spidy sence was very active.

Armoured Ugh boots would have been very handy.

I was wearing a WWII leather flying jacket some 40 years ago with double
denim pants and flying boots ( unzud winter) when a 1961 Morris 4 door
hit me , bloke my arm and dented the tank a little on my Bonnie , he
backed off and drove away , I rode to the Hospital to get the arm
plastered , anything with less protection and I suspect a simple
fracture would have been the least of my problems , yes I was wearing my
month old open face.. the law was a couple of months old in requiring it ..
Leather may be uncomfortable at times but I normally wear it when riding .
