Anyone have any grief trying to roadworthy a bike with aftermarket
    (small) LED indicators?
    How about sawn-off rear mudguards?

  2. Theoritically, in Victoria, the rear mudguard is supposed to come down to
the axle height and if it dioesn't, a mudflap will cover it.
Years ago, when Vicroads started doing their job and refusing to register
new bikes when the mudguard wasn't up to standard, Peter Stevens would put a
mudflap on the read guard with their name on it.
got over the registration hassle and also a lot of advertising.
But that was a long time ago, could have changed by now.
The hassle with LED indicators is that they have to be at least eleven and a
half inches apart, though I am not quite sure on the exact measurements.
I have seen quite a few custom bikes get knocked back for registration
    because of this

As long as the indicators are ADR approved that should be fine. Mudguards
may be a different strory though.

    I assume you're in Vic?

And they are the regulation distance apart...
    (see

    )

I suspect that is what will do you if you have a nasty inspector.

Car places don't care, never go to a bike place unless you are mates
    with the owner.

with mudguards, the spec in NSW is that it has to go back as far as
the furthest point of the rear tyre, see
