Was wondering if anyone has 250cc lerners bike sitting in garrage, I
could use it for few days. If not registred, I could pay for it in
exchange of letting me use it for few days.

    OR

If bike is registred, and not getting used, I could rent it for few
    days for agreed amount.

    OR

If someone is simply kind enough to let me use it. I will bare the cost
of any damage done by me, if any.

    OR

If someone just want's to sell the bike sitting in garrage. Looking to
    spend @ $500

Age/cosmetics of bike doesn't matter as long as it is road worthy and
    in working condition.

    Regards,

    Munno

    I am in Sydney.

I had a look around and the rent for 250cc MB is $155 for a day and $
280 for a weekend. Now that sounds too high compared to a car rental.
You can get reliable old car for $35 approx a day.

People tend to find it harder to steal a car or accidentally drop one.

OK, so how much would you want to rent your bike to a complete stranger?

With a learner's permit, who no one would allow to rent a car?

Well, it will be no different if I rent from professional mob as they
also have term mentioned in their contract that renter pays the damange
    and access etc etc etc.

Why not wait until you've bought a bike and then do your test?

    Clem,

I already have bought GSX750 but can't ride it as it is not learner
legal. I had riden MC's for 12 yrs in past but that was 7 yrs ago. I
just need learner legal bike which I can use for a week and that should
be enough to recall my skills.

Yep; I'd guessed you were intending to ride a bike you weren't licensed
    for.

oh i love this one! if you are only willing to spend 500 to buy the
thing i dont think you should offer to fix it if anything happens to it!
a low speed drop can cost you anything from 500 up! but good luck with
    that

It's an attitudinal thing...obviously a learner legal bike can't be
worth much more than 3 or 4 hundred...500 tops.

So sell the GPX750 and _buy_ a 250 that you are actually allowed to ride!

looks like the onIy cheaper and cleaner option is to rent it. Ebay has
few cheapies but they all need some level of work and most needs rego
and some are interstate which then incurs @ $300 for transport to
    sydney.

So you have to learn and pass the test on a 250 but then you can ride an
    open-class bike from day 1?!!?
    What an odd rule.
Surely it would make more sense to test your competence on the bikes you're
    gonna' ride!!

If you are 30+ and are eligible for a gold lincence(havent been disqualified
    for 5 years)

then you are deemed to be mature enough to not kill yourself on a big bike

Bit like Q ride maybe ?

you do the L's , then you do the P's course and you can ride any bike

P's rules apply, no pillions for 12 months and no grog
