It had to happen eventually - got home this morning on the far side of
very, very pissed to find some scrote has had a go at nicking the bike
    (GN125)

Damage: Steering wheel lock crowbarred so no longer works, packlock
sawn through 3/4 of the way. Lock to shed door somewhere. Just not
    on the shed door.

So that was a £5 on a padlock well spent then. Glad I put the lock
on, as I don't always. Police soco on their way (presumably not very
    quickly).

Heading off to Halfords today for new lock and an eye to sink into the
shed floor. As well as a cheap alarm for the shed. They even propped
up a garden fence panel to climb under. I'll get a back gate lock as
well and will sink screws into all the panels to hold them in place.

  2. There are people who would profit at the expense of others. It's not
    nice.
Give you a chance to have a coffee and sober up.
Add a motion sensor light over the shed door to your list.

Thats a good idea, thanks. Weve already got a big light out the back
so may just swap that out for one with a sensor. I want to go out in
a couple of hours to the garage to get the steering lock fixed but
will have to wait - still definitely under the influence now :(

I think I'll do it later on today when I pick up everything I need,
    but definitely today.

The girl gives good advice, cheap they are now too. You obviously need a
better chain/padlock that are saw proof. Bit expensive for a humble bike
I know but nip over to your nearest Master Locksmith
www.locksmiths.co.uk talk to the actual bod not the drone on counter
    duty and get some advice.

My shed has PIR's at both ends.

Just a thought, if you have mains power in the shed you might wish to
scour your local car boot sales for a plug in baby alarm. If my shed
alarm goes off you can't hear it in the house, particularly if asleep,
however, the baby alarm makes a fucking excellent repeater.

Yeah I thought that as well. I did get home rather worse for wear and
    they may
well have been sawing through the padlock when I returned at 2am ish.
    They pulled
it out of the shed and had it on its centre stand in the middle of the
    patio. Theres
about 2 or 3 mm of steel left on the padlock.

  7. You extending the definition of profit to include ragging the arse of
the bike round the park and then torching it? Cos that is what I
understand the world thinks happens to a 125 when it goes. Mind you if
it turns out I am wrong then I have to comment that me and Sailor Ted
are on a wavelength in having that down as a part of the unacceptable
face of capitalism. Although he was talking about something else.
