    OT... well a bit anyway.
I'm reminded of my Nissan MQ Patrol, the SD33 model with a 24 volt
starting system. Incorporated into the starting circuit was an
el-cheapo hydrophilic relay - the smallest amount of moisture would
cause it to close. Of course, I eventually identified the issue and
changed the relay, but not before the workers had given my eerily
    unattended-starting vehicle the nick-name "Herbie".
I got chatting with a farmer who owned a similar vehicle, and of
course the subject turned to the unattended starting issue. He told me
about how he and his wife were sitting down for dinner one evening
when he saw the vehicle tootling past the kitchen window. Thinking
that it was his farm labourer working late he thought little more
about it until he went outside again. At the bottom of the paddock,
there was a large tree, and there was the vehicle, at about 45 degrees
up the trunk, wheels still slowly turning in low range.
The moral (if there is one)? Buy good quality relays if there is any
possibility of exposure to moisture (which puts me back on topic, I
    feel better now:))
