I know this is the first week of darkness for a lot of drivers, but FFS why
can't they use their lights?! Every day this week when returning home
(mostly in the rain and darkness) there have been a plethora of cars without
headlights on, or only on side lights. It's hard enough to see hazards
without that sort of stupidity thrown in as well. </rant>

    or only on side lights.

    Highway code rule 93 says:
    You MUST
a.. use headlights at night, except on restricted roads (those with street
lights not more than 185 metres (600 feet) apart and which are generally
subject to a speed limit of 30 mph)
It's one of the only rules I've never understood, and I'd prefer it if
evryone had to have headlights on all the time. At least then they can get
tickets for dodgy lights during the day.

I find most cars use their headlights, usually flashing them. Must
have something to do with my 80 watt bulb and the dip beaming high
    when not under heavy braking.

One thing though; even if I do set my dip lower, I'll still blind
on-comers when I am rounding a left hand bend.

Don't complain too loudly otherwise the fools will be on main beam plus
    fogs. I hate front fogs.

I'm going to set up a website and expose the idiots who use their front fogs
    illegally.

It's a £30 spot fine if they admit their mistake,
or driving without due care and attention if they claim they didn't know
    they were on.

100 metres, that's nothing, how often do you see vision reduced to that !!??

Turn the damn things off you stupid.....
    Grrrr.

They're not fogs, they're "driving lights". You can tell by the E
    numbers.
Ridiculously lenient - you'll get no respect for The Law with
enforcement that limp-wristed. Every offender should be arrested on the
spot, slung in the back of a Black Maria and carted off to the
hoosegow. Saturday morning, centre of town, bring 'em out, bound,
blindfolded, and set on their knees. Then the Chief Constable strolls
round with his PPK and caps the lot of them. Sorted.

I hate it when I'm in the car at traffic lights and the twat in front is
sitting with his foot on the brake - especially in the dark when he's
got hi-level brake lights. Obviously I don't care when on the bike as
    I've filtered to the front.

not bothering to indicate being top of the list I would guess.

    You don't even have *brakes*.

Anyway, I raise you your "no indicators". I have no indicators and no
    mirrors either (on the Dax).

I'll throw a "Indicators wired up the wrong way so left is right and right
is left" into the pot. [1]

[1] This had everyone confused [2]

[2] Myself included. I kept wondering why no one was letting me change lanes
    on the motorway.
