I am looking at getting a jacket to wear in the summer with just a T-shirt
    under it.
What is the best way to go, as I don't want anything that will shred if I
    ever come off.
Is the RIVET AIRSTREAM a suitable option? I am unfamiliar with new materials
and am a big guy (50" girth).
(no fat jokes or I'll kick your head in)

I am also in Perth and am only a occasional rider (weekend warrior)

    Thanks

Good luck! I tried just about every brand last summer and have come to
the conclusion that the jacket manufacturers think bikers have
detachable guts! I happily fit an XXL Rivet/DriRider, but the waist on
even an XXXXL summer jacket doesn't hack it!

If you find one, let me know! I'm thinking of getting Draggin Jeans to
    custom one!

    Cheers

I wear draggin cargo pants with a Dririder jacket. They would have bugger
all impact protection but with the kevlar they're supposed to be pretty
scratch resistant if you come off. You can buy extra armour though.

Temperature wise the cargos are pretty warm in winter and cooler than jeans
in warmer weather. Draggin Jeans also make a range of kevlar gloves and
shirts etc. They have a new "ultra light jacket" which goes up to XXXL and
kevlar shirts but they stop at XXL. Don't know if an XXXL is too small, if
so you might look at putting some armour in a normal denim jacket.

Anyway check out the website and good luck. Hope you never need the armour.
