I'm listing the Blackbird on eBay.

Other than details of the bike itself what other stuff should I put in
the text? Are there any standard lines you always put in?

  2. Giver as much info as possible; the bad points as well as the good, and
use lots of nice big pictures.

Good quality pics, use supersize. Give all the info, good bad & ugly.

Sensible start price, don't bother with a reserve.

Leave your mobile number, give times to call or you'll get idiots ringing at
    midnight.

Look at eBay for cars & bikes as an introduction agency, it will sell
    outside of eBay most times.

Be friendly, don't put one line of info & 100 lines of rules & regs.

Don't accept paypal, deffo no test rides without full cash in hand.

Take really good pics of stuff like tyres, trim & any damage.

How good a rating have you got, i can shove it on mine if you are a new
    user?

Call me if you need any more info matey.

This is a good example of not how to do it. I took a punt on this at £1500,
if it's as it looks, i got a fucking bargain, if not, i'll ebay it again.

All rules & **** all info. No info on heated grips or other nice stuff, but
    all about him etc.

I get it next week :)

Have you seen where Stonehaven is on the map?
No wonder it was cheap, no one wants to go so far North.

That looks alright actually. Long way away mind - are you riding it back?

IIRC that one will have the smaller alternator that can be a right PITA,
    but you might be lucky.

I can't see where I can make them any bigger. Is there a 'bigger'
    button?

Format looks good but the starting price is too high. You should have
started it lower to get lots of interest and early bidders - with a view to
provoking a feeding frenzy in the last few minutes before the auction
    closes.

I went there in search of a place to stay one night whilst doing the
    RBR.

    It was shut.

When you do the listing, there are advanced picture options. Revise the
auction, take off the pics, then add new ones (same) using the large picture
    option.

When you are doing it, give me a ring if you get stuck.

Bikemovers £100 door to door :)

Needs a big screen, a wind deflectors etc. But a very tidy old bus.

How much for a new alternator?

I picked one up for about £100 on ebay I think - if the one you have is
the smaller 28A one and it does go, don't bother repairing/replacing it.
The 40A is the one to get. Big job to fit it though, officially it's an
engine out job, but can be done by "just" removing the swinging arm.

This is very true, it's rare now on bikes & cars.
