On my way home last night (about 9:30) I was a few streets away from
home when some little fucker saw me coming and rolled his skateboard
out onto the road in front of me.

I avoided it, but I was utterly gobsmacked that even a 10/12-year-old
would think that this was a good idea.

With hindsight I should have stopped, picked up the skateboard, and
pissed off with it. Hopefully there won't be a next time where I have
    to do that.

  2. I had a woman push her pram out onto the road in front of me.
    On a major road.
From behind construction works (so I couldn't see her coming).
Lucky for the child I had done an advanced driving course a couple of months
back, and emergency braking was one of my strong points. It was that close.

In another instance, I had seen some guy pushing (well, running) a pram
across the road inbetween moving traffic.
Which alone wouldn't have been so bad, except he had his very pregnant wife
    running behind him.

I thought Darwin's natural selection theory madated that stupid people were
killed BEFORE they had a chance to breed?
Someone stop the planet, I want to get off.

Last person that ran out in front of me ended up in hospital. My footpeg
ripped a 15cm gash in his leg. I actually saw the guy running, decided it
wasn't a problem and aimed for the spot he'd just been, but he decided he
was safe and slowed to a walk. I hadn't even touched the brakes as if he'd
kept running as I had planned for, slowing down wasn't nessesary. The nice
police man said we were both a fault. Him for crossing against the ped
signals and me for being there and not avoiding him. (no ticket issued).

  4. Could be a good idea if you have any more engine maintenance in mind...

    Why I oughtta...

Actually, my wrecker has offered me a complete CBR1000F motor with
90,000km on it for $700. Seems like a better deal than $250 for
another head, $150 for another camchain, $? for piston rings and
gaskets, and lots of frigging around...

Heheh, there's going to be a bike wreckers at Tarago (sp?) sometime in the next
    5 years.

Hey BT, it's cheaper if you just buy the wrecks instead of going through the
    middle man :)
