live105, lane splitting and car doors

Discussion in 'Bay Area Bikers' started by Rob Kleinschmidt, Jan 13, 2006.

  1. BARF thread claims morning DJs advocate car door opening when
lanesplitting motorcyclists pass you in traffic.

Remember when those jerks in South Bay did the same thing? We got them
pulled from the air in less than three days.

We need to get these guys show cancelled, too.

There is no way we can tolerate this kind of irresponsible efforts to
    encourage mayhem against motorcyclists.

  3. I'd mentioned the FCC and legal/illegal in my email as well.

    Good show.

  5. Per their website, BARF et al have spoken loud and clear, the station
gets it and repent the error of their ways. DJ is explaining that his
has a dealership, some of his best friends are motorcyclists etc.

The Yamaha dealership seems more than a little unhappy with them too.

Good. Since they lane split, too, because potential manslaughterous
drivers usually can't tell if it's a cop coming up from between the
    lanes, it's self-preservation.

Live 105 appears to be a CBS affiliate. A message to them might also
    be in order...

  8. Live105: Dismal market share and probably on the out. Socialist political
commentaries and wuss alternative just not grabbing the local populace.
Radio Emasculation, I would call it. I'm not real surprised they crossed
the line and advocated possible violence towards bikers 'cause the weenies
are AFRAID of bikes because of the risk, individuality, freedom, need to
actually learn a skill, and dare I say all that damn noise.

The thing about dooring a biker, which they probably didn't talk about on
live105, is that the biker must be severely injured or better killed.
Otherwise, at least in my case, 200 pounds of adrenaline pumped muscle
surrounded by $2000 in body armour will define the modern berzerker.
    Promise.

We had a moderate turnout today outside their office. It wasn't supposed to
be a big thing, just merely a way to get some thoughts across.

I think it worked out rather well, got some air time, got a mention that
splitting is not illegal. Right now we are working with the station to get
some MC friendly PSA spots, and a couple other things done.

I think it will work out for the best.

Timberwoof, were you there this morning? I swear I saw you, or your
    doppleganger...

  10. OK...I haven'e made it to the link yet, but if it's Sarah and "No
    Name", they ARE idiots.

I know...I used to precede them on the air at Alice. I got LOTSA
    stories...hee--hee-hee.
I scared 'em good one day, but that's a story that won't be posted
here. If you ever see me at Acme, ask me then. It's pretty intense.

Time to launch a protest!!. They may not get kicked oft the air, but
they are spoiled yuppie brats, and hypocrites, too. We MUST have
massive amounts of scooter and MC riders gather at 750 Battery
    Street...

and my BCW may be down, but just let me know when, and I'll be there!

Personal?? You bet. They used to talk shit about me ON THE AIR (after I
left the studios of course), and the only reason I found out (you think
I wanted to listen to their vapid Gen X BS after hearing the same
Coldplay or Michelle Brasnch songs all night long???) was 'cause a
    friend of mine told me.

Incidentally, the former PD rode a scooter..and Mr. SmartyPants aka No
Name told me once he was planning on getting a Sportster..figures. Too
bad he didn't, 'cause he'd know what we face. Guess his wife talked him
    out of it.

Remember, "Evil 105" just lost Stern, and I haven't seen the ratings,
but this sounds like a ploy to garner publicity. I suppose the argument
could be made that a protest would only fulfill their purpose, but we
    need to make ourselves heard!!

PLEASE - anybody who wants to organize this...e-mail me c/o this
address, and I'll make a point of being right up front. I think they're
full of shit, and need to be called on it.

Further proof that Viacom really is dumbing down CBS radio....:p

Of course, if it's not S & N who made the offending commnets, I'll be
    there anyway. ;)

  12. OOPS! I missed it, oh well....how unprofessional of me. I stand by my
comments re S & N, and that F&^%$er still owes me a Tullamore Dew at
    the Irish Bank...

Now, If I can just get this bullet out of my foot...;)

Do it, BA guys. People like that need to be confronted. There are enough
jackholes out there who think stuff like that is funny without any DJ
    urging!

Seriously, you once worked at Alice? Gosh, people like you are the
reason I got out of broadcasting in the first place. I'm getting the
uncomfortable feeling that I'm back in high school again. Jeez...
