  1. Now that was just mean, I've got a delicate stomach you know.
    <slightly feeble stare>

You knew exactly what I meant and are just taking advantage of my
weakened state. And i quite like it ;)

Don't worry, it'll be back to its normal dumpy self in no time,
especially if you've stayed off the fags.
Oh jesus, what the *hell* did they do to you in there!

Yes, size of horse pills. I have to take one of those morning and
evening and two of the other sort (cefaclor) three times a day. I've
been having them via IV since thursday when they did the liver
    snipping.

Just how ill would I be if I had a drink? I'm not going to (don't
actually want alcohol or coffee or quite a long list of stuff) but I'm
    curious.

So slipping one into the pint of someone you don't like would be quite
    effective, then?

Can be nasty, apparently. There's only a couple that actually have
nasty effects, and that's the most common.

"Drinking alcohol when you are taking either metronidazole, or
tinidazole, can cause a serious reaction. The symptoms of this
    reaction include:

    breathlessness,
    headaches,
    chest pain,
    skin flushing,
    increased, or irregular, heartbeat,
    low blood pressure (hypotension), and
    nausea and vomiting."

    from http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?ArticleId=871

But I'm struggling to see how that differs from drinking alcohol in
    general :)

  6. <Adds to the agony>

Cheryl used to get consistently refused when going to give blood on the
basis that she weighed under 8 stone. She's put a bit of weight on
recently (eating cooked breakfasts for a week and eating in restaurants
every night does that..) and now weighs an astonishing 8 stone 6lbs.

  7. When Dad was doing his pharmacy degree he synthesised a compound that
(if given to smokers) would make them quite ill if they smoked a
ciggie. His lecturer applauded the effort and then told him to throw it
all away and never make it again..

It made them *very* sick. Or did on the couple of volunteers that tried
    it.

Good to see you're something approaching yourself again - I was
shocked to see just how thin you were, but I suppose that's to be
    expected under the circumstances.

  12. I had that. Didn't give blood ubtil my mid twenties as I was too thin.
I still (possibly, may have gone in the last declutter) have my
medical card from when I was pregnant with Joe - 6 stone 12 at the
first weigh in and less than 8 stone when I gave birth. When i started
posting here i was only 8 stone 3.

Pah, i could be that thin if I wanted, I just like my food too much.

    1. How do I get my name in the header not the email?
    2. Any way to spam trap the email - it's the one I use for any one off
online stuff so it gets a fair bit of spam any way but reducing it
    would be nice.
    3. Any way to mark things as read?
    4. auto sig rather than cutting and pasting dash dash space return

Select "My Account", then on the left you'll see "Personal Information
    - Edit". Select "Edit", then put what you want in as your nickname -
Google Groups will use this as your name.
    Probably not.
    Again, probably not.
Google Groups automatically trims trailing spaces, thus breaking sig-
seps. General wisdom on GG is not to bother with sigs.

  16. With Cheryls mother & grandmother they were really slim until they
sprogged. At which the thinness headed for the hills.

Which is another fine reason for us not sprogging (no. 25 in a list of
    5000 or so).
So does she. She eats almost as much as I do but doesn't seem to put on
very much (if any) weight. It just ain't fair.

Exceptional periods of piggery (being on hols on Jersey for example)
    excepted of course.

Being a Cork supporter, I particularly hate Kilkenny this year.

    BTW, that's Kilkenny's main skill - cheating.
