Just ran a quote for my new London postcode through CN.

    £2K tpft - on a bike 'worth' £1000.

Seems to be a couple of hundred for TPO. This is going to be painful.

Where's the best place to buy almax chains?

Either they don't like you or they're taking the piss (or it's a really
bad area in London). When I live up in London, I never had had that sort
    of quote.

  7. An auld Army blanket pinned across the bay window makes a stunning
statement about solidarity with the 'nouveau poor' inhabiting the land

I'm not *daft* you know, I knew straight away that you weren't Champ.

What's odd is that TPO with CN is £200ish, and TPFT is £2000. Isn't the
only difference between liability in that case the F and T, which only
affect MY bike. Given that it's worth about 50p it's a damn liberty that
they want £1800 (for argument's sake) per year. Are they suggesting that
it'll get burned out and stolen 3 times in one year?

I didn't check underwriters though, I'm prepared to accept that it was a
different underwriter who offered the TPO quote. and that of CN's
underwriters £2K is the cheapest they have who *would* quote for TPFT is
    the £2K one.

As others have said, look around. My renewal quote was £151 (Bike
team). I did 3 online quotes and the cheapest was £270 (CN) and most
expensive was E-bike (£475.65, but this included UK breakdown).

I think you'll find Veggie is a proponent of Almax chains.

I've never had insurance through CN as they were almost always one of
the most expensive for my HA postcode. I've used H&R and various
others, usually whichever is the cheapest at renewal time.

Pah. That doesn't beat the 2300 quid I was quoted for a non-running
1983 CG125, and that wasn't even within the bounds of the M25.

Are you still moving to Acton? It really is a shithole.

H&R come up trumps for me pretty much every time. If not them, then
    Motorcycle Direct or Hastings Direct.

    Ker-ching.

I am, it's 0.7 miles from my school. I don't really need a bike, but it
might be useful to gtfo once in a while.
