Can we assume the Lone Star Rally scheduled for Galveston on 10/30 to
    11/2 is cancelled?
Or will it somehow be relocated to another area? Personally I can't
    see how the city could
hope to be ready for such an event in the time left to prepare.

Thanks, I usually avoid the big rallies but was just
wondering. I might get a wild hair, who knows?

That sounds like my last Sturgis rally visit. I was
on the way home from WA state, wandering a bit, and
rode into Sturgis, looked at the crowds, gassed the
bike, bought a tee-shirt and was back on the road in
about 35 minutes. I'm just NOT impressed with big rallies.
    YMMV

I wondered about that myself. But those are exactly the types of events
they'll need to get the city going again.

===it do make ''one''wonder where folks (that many folks) will sleep and
    eat.
I observed on my trusty CNN news, that many of the resturants are out of
business, and the big old ''Flag Ship'' hotel is in bad shape for
atleast 3more months, according to their webSite. The sewage is in bad
shape.... We cannot stay in Kemah (by houston) cause it is was almost
whished away. And....it is only 5 weeks till the Rally Time Event,
which normally adds up to aleast a coupla hundred thousand
    riders/visitors...and so 4th.......MrJayT=
