To be fair Steve, you live in Wales, where as I understand it property is
worth absolutely **** all, and own an Alfa 75.

You understand wrongly. Yes, I have a 75, but it's my *3rd* choice car.
Oh, and the house is ours. The bank don't hold any interest in it these
days. Plus, my job doesn't require 12 or 15 hour days.

It doesn't really matter if you own 100% of very little does it?

    What are car 1 and 2? A 156 and a Marea?

33% to the consumer, 66% down the river/into the sky sounds like the
    economics of the madhouse.

Depends on your definition of 'very little'. I don't think anyone would
consider the value to be 'very little', though it's less than it would
be worth in, say, St. Albans.

Prices here are roughly on par with Milton Keynes.
A good 156 (dangles bait), and the company Passat.

  12. I don't think anyone has ever said that, but truck driving surely must be
better than listening out for "Will the cleaner go to Aisle Seven. Baked
Bean Spillage" on the Lidl tannoy.

I'm sure he's mentioned living in Yorkshire so I can only assume it's
some kind of sister-fucker pigsty like Selby.

  17. No, just saying that energy cannot "go to waste". Energy can neither be
created nor destroyed- That is the First Law of Thermodynamics.

For the same reason, the current trend for "efficient" fluorescent
lightbulbs is all "kiddology". Your central heating boiler will simply work
harder if your lightbulbs are not contributing to the heating of your house.

That's simply untrue, energy that has not been used to do useful work
has in a sense gone to waste. The fact that one could do work and still
end up with the same amount of energy as heat as if not work had been
done, does not mean that the work was not done.

If you sit with your truck engine idling and use up all the fuel, has
the energy in the fuel gone to waste?
    Ish.

However if your idea had validity then it would be impossible to
calculate the Thermal efficiency of a system, since one would simply add
in the heat that had done no useful work and declare every system 100%
    efficient.
