I have a CBR1000F-M 1992 that is fine on the open road but when you
stop at lights etc. she has trouble pulling away, fails to accelerate
at all for a couple of seconds. Once moving and revs get above 2000 she
    is fine.

She also seems to tickover too slow (600rpm or so) and stalls easily.

Any ideas of what I should look at first. I have only recently got the
vehicle and do not know its service history.

9.co.uk was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
    Shit in the carbs.

Buy HBOL and give it a service.

    Shit in the carbs.

Is that an instruction that I need to follow? Do I crouch over the
    tank?
    HBOL? Please decrypt, thanks.

    (Haynes Book of Lies)

Watching one on eBay - Cheerz

Going to attempt cleaning the front calipers on Tuesday due to them
being so stiff you need arms like RAMBO to pull the anchors on.

Any advice or pearls of wisdom?

Yeah, get some aerosol brake cleaning stuff,

Once you have sniffed the whole can, take the bike to someone in possession
    of a clue.

minor but irritatingly essential things slightly wrong.

So Mr Muscle is not a good idea then?
It's OK to drive then once I've sniffed the whole can. Do I need to do
this with a carrier bag over my head?

Anyone know of a good motorcycle mechanical type establishment in the
Blackpool area? Honest but good, you know the sort.

Oh, I can see I'll have an absolute bundle of fun with that then...

I can already see the advert in the paper... CBR1000F for sale,
    non-runner.....

You really need to see the modifications a certain Mr Whinging Courier of
this parish made to his CBR Thou last year.

    It rocks.

My missus is even now somewhat traumatised by the whole thing [1].
