    It all started off OK. A nice ride home from work on a sunny summer evening
    when I stopped at the first set of lights and a taxi driver pointed out that
    there was something dripping from my motorbike. Sure enough he was right;
    large quanities of petrol were runing nicely down the gearbox from somewhere
    under the tank so I thought it best to pull over and switch off.

    Cutting a long story short the bike is now in the back of a van on its way
    to BMW Park Lane and I've got to get that thing that BCB always raves about
    home.

    I suppose at least it didn't catch fire.

    I think he got the gearbox done under warranty. Someone registered recently
    on the ukgser forum calling themselves "Wikkus" who had recently purchased a
    GS Adventure and was having problems with it loosing power when
    accelerating. I'm not sure whether it was resolved to Wikkus' satisfaction.

    The annoying thing it about mine is that it is a known fault and subject to
    a recall that was supposed to have been fixed when it was last serviced.

    That'll sounds like our Wik. He had that problem just before our trip to
    Spain, and iiRC, it got worse on the way back.
