LPG

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by bogdan, Aug 22, 2006.

  1. You're right. I was confused. I had this idea that LPG was natural gas
derived and that we had a lot more of that than crude.

Wrong again and then of course I had to be a smart arse too.

    Shit. Must do better.

Cng offers much lower calorific value that LPG , as you said it doesn't
become liquid until a much higher pressure and is no where the auto fuel
    LPG is in normal use.

There is a huge amount of lpg going to waste , if it isn;t sold of to
the chinese or used in cars and industry its simply burned off as waste.

You never heard of addiction, or perhaps "habit" may sound _nicer_?

  8. What?

So do tell me what "natural gas" is vs "LPG" and why that would be worse to
    use?

My memory may fail me now, but I do recall that despite the oil industry
gaining parity pricing on LPG in the early 90s, when Victoria's natural
gas supply was interrupted by the Longford explosion in the late 90's it
was revealed that there was no facility in Victoria for the loading or
unloading of gas tankers in Victoria, where a lot of Australia's LPG
    supply is produced.

So you trade dependence on (taxed) petroleum for dependence on (less-taxed)
petroleum-gas and this makes sense after a few minutes does it?
    Hmmm...
    (not yet)

  14. Actually it does if we have more LPG than petrol, which someone
    suggested was the case.

  18. Or rather that excess LPG is going to waste. Is that right?

  19. Jesus, well I won't be doing that again. Not only did it hurt but you
reckon it's a tactic and you have the patent.
