As I mentioned previously, Givi do some popular panniers called the
V35. these are purely panniers and alot of the racks they make suit the
V35s only, so they can't double up as topboxes.

Here's a back view of my bike showing why.

    Indeed.
First task when I get a bike is to take the appropriate C spanner
to the rear shocks and stake out a load of pretension.

Aye, I've got Suzuki branded Give V35s on my Bandit, along with an E45
top box. Top box will get two medium helmets in, or a large and a
pair of boots. Side boxes will get a helmet, or a pair of trousers
    and boots in.

The V35 boxes are shaped so they expand in towards the bike low down
to give more room, but as Loz says, this means you can't put them on
    the top rack.

Great kit, although I do find the locks tend to stick a little.
Probably just need a little graphite.

the only design flaw really - the little sprung flap doesn't always return
on mine so the lock is prone to water/crap ingress. A squirt of WD40 soon
    sorts it out.

Not IME. My old FZR's suspension sagged mightily under my weight and I
had to fit a higher rate rear spring to my YZ. My old R1 was OK witht
he preload wound up a little on the high side. Ditto the Aprilia.

    Haven't checked the V11 yet.

And no, I didn't eat all the fucking pies.

You two are so so rude!

FWIW I've already met Cat and done some servicing work on her old ER-5,
which used to belong to Jasmine, formerly of this parish. I rode that
bike all round the south of France one christmas holiday.

Declared ok by the docs this morning, thanks for asking.

Woke up this morning bleeding quite badly, so rushed to my GP, he
refered me direct to Urology Dept at hosp. I went there and was
subjected to a rather uncomfy exam which showed my stent had moved
overnight leaving a cut inside my kidney, hence the bleeding. He says
it should heal fairly quickly and they've re-sited the stent. I am in
    considerably less discomfort now.

I'll be back at work tomorrow

How do women of child-bearing age put up with bleeding every single
month. I've had it happen like this twice since I got this kidney
problem and both times I've thought I am about to die. There's truth in
that old saying "never trust anything that can bleed non-stop for one
week in every four without dying"
