Luggage

  1. Or more specifically, tailpacks. Anybody have a recommendation?

Ideally I'm looking for something I can quickly attach and detach. Not
sure of the size, has to carry my gym kit so trainers, change of
    clothes, towel etc.

    Ta!

Cane had a pretty good tailpack - very easy to detach.

It didn't affect the handling of his bike either.

    LOL

Oxford stuffer back, the big round sausage shaped ones. Very tough,
waterproof and they bungee onto the pillion nicely. Huge capacity too. They
    come with a shoulder strap.

I use a Givi round tailpack which holds 48 litres and is tough enough
to have been used as a seat at the TT, be thrown around numerous
hotels, be strapped onto the back of several different bikes and still
looks new. I can get everything I need for a weekend in Europe in it
with room to spare but it's still small enough not to be a pain in
    the arse iyswim.

It's got small plastic loops on it and I'd suggest anyone who uses one
of these threads their straps through the loops to avoid the fucker
trying to make a break for freedom if they start throwing the bike
around country lanes at stupid speeds.

Got to admit, I'm quite impressed with that bag. I might just order one
    myself.

They sell them at Flitwick motorcycles so the underground railway
could easily grab one for you.

Ahh. Thinking about it, I could grab one when I'm down there in a few
    weeks..

That Givi trolley bag looks like a handy bit of kit.

Might grab one for taking to overnight meetings in London.

I just bungy a samsonite trolley bag onto the bike seat.

I would be tempted but I need the topbox to hold my bike jacket and
trousers on the bike when I'm in my suit. (one pannier holds my helmet
    and the other my boots).

I'm working on the assumption that the Givi verison will be more
waterproofed than a Samsonite. I already have a Samsonite - but the Givi
appeals as it clips to a standard Givi rack mount.
Givi trolley + 2 decent sized panniers would be the best combo, IMHO - I
always find the top-box awkward to carry around.

Well, I need the storage on the bike to leave my kit securely with the
bike so I don't need to cart it about. The panniers on their own won't
    hold jacket+trousers+helmet+boots.
