really stupid thought this, ( really ) but the other day I coming to
work with my 15" macbook pro in my rucksack.. I was wandering what
sort of protection this would offer ones spine in the event of a
serious accident.. funny the weird stuff that goes through your head
on the way to work ! it's a lovely sturdy case though ;-)

Possibly the most dangerously witless thing I got involved in was the
transportation of several long loops of hefty and horribly sharp band-
saw blades - wrapped around and slung over our shoulders as we
    negotiated the Dublin traffic.

Jeez - and I thought I was risking it a bit when I carried four (glass) milk
bottles tucked down the front of my leather jacket for a couple of miles.
(Students, Cocopops, milk ran out, force majeure and all that.)

I take my PowerBook in my rucksack every day to work (school).

One of the kids asked me what would happen to it if I forget to keep it
rubber side down (the bike, that is). I suggested that I was more
concerned with what would happen to head and limbs than laptop, though
in truth he has a fair point.

Can't think of a better solution though atm...

Cocopops? You risk your life for Cocopops? Students are strange ...
(Weetabix and/or Shredded Wheat would be a different matter, naturally.)

Dear (and it's not my laptop :p). Definite possibility when I upgrade.
Considered that but thought it might be even worse to have the bike land
on the laptop rather than just me (probably not that much difference
actually - and a 50/50 chance of it going t'other way).
I would have thought there'd be more vibration strapped directly to the
tank (typically not good for a laptop). Also not sure if it would fit
nicely, particularly as the tank is curved and the laptop not.
Would spend the entire ride checking it hadn't moved. Might get a web
from Tesco and stick something similarly sized under there for a while
    ??
    Don't _____ care?
    Fairy 'nuff :)

    Cheers tho

My POS work laptop, which doesn't seem to know the meaning of "suspend", is
great in my rucksack in winter - it manages to stay toasty warm even with the
lid shut, and the battery lasts a good hour before it finally packs up. No
    need for a heated jacket...

Bagster makes an extremely nice PC bag which attaches to their tank mats.
