Txted. Though you already know that. Lazy day on the beer today, don't think anyone has any plans. You should've got in touch last night, we were all at Keith's bbq in ramsey with champ.
We're in the archibald Knox eating roast dinner and watching the GP at the mo. Might take a run to Peel later. Have just texted you my number
As the weather turned to shit, I never bothered taking the bike out in any case. Gonna walk down to Peel in a bit and watch the airshow and get a beer or two.. if you come down gimme a call. -- Gavin. What? It was lovely all day in Ramsey. When I had my bike all running in the evening, I went out and did 3 laps in the lovely late sunshine. The roads were deserted - it was like and evening practice! - Champ
practice! After a rather beef-heavy lunch, ginge and I left the others in the pub and made the most of the weather to ride over to Peel. **** me but the ride to Greeba Castle is painful. The last bit into Peel was pleasant enough though. We parked up and wandered down to the pub Gavsta was at. After standing next to him for about 20 minutes without knowing it (isn't the internet great) a quick phone call trebled the number of ukrmers he's met. Nice chap, looks fucking ancient compared to the photos. So then we left Peel, rode back to St John and picked up the course at Ballacraine. I say course, I mean procession aid vehicles driven by zombies afraid to breach the 8mph asphyxiation barrier. Glen Helen, fruity even with a 60 limit. Quarry bends would have been great without the 40mph dullards and two-wheeled coma patients unable to execute a simple overtake where there is no speed limit. Sulby to Ramsey is like riding a 160hp pogo stick. Ramsey was basically one big traffic jam so I paid attention to the fuel light and grabbed 18 quid's worth of Total's finest, rejoined the queue and headed for the mountain. Guess what - it's just like the playstation. Except the other bikes all move really slowly and if you take it easy because it's your first time over the mountain you still get heads turning at Windy Corner as the bike backfires on the overrun and you bounce it off the limiter in each gear on the way up toward the 33rd. So that was the practice lap, it'd be rude not to do a proper run over the mountain at some point, weather permitting. Went down to Douglas earlier, never before has the western world seen such a confluence of fucking pikeys. We only lasted one pint at the biker lifestyle armpit that was the Bushy's tent before retreating to the relative paradise of the okells tent up the road for another 9000 pints. Hillberry tomorrow for the 600s, then god knows where for the Superstore. Any recommendations?
It's Blackpool on two wheels so no surprise there, hence Ramsay seems like a better place to be. Not to mention the female pillions. The Herefords looked considerably more upmarket in their own skin.
