In the spring I am going to ride down to somewhere near Malaga with my
bro in law and a mate. There will be three going and two coming back
(bro in law lives there and will be staying). As I am DFV for the trip
    the route will be mine,
I intend going via a village I used to know near Perigueux, and then
crossing the Millau bridge. and down in to Spain on the E15 and down
the Costa Brava coast to Barcelona and then right on down the coast to
Malaga. I might come back via Madrid and Bilbao just for a change. I
recon four days to get there and two back to Bilbao, does that sound
reasonable, and is there any thing I should make a detour in Spain to
    see?
There will be an odd bunch of bikes, my Z1000, my mates rotary Norton
    and my BIL's FJR1300.

    In communiqué
A couple of the hill climb nutters are riding down to Portugal at the
end of this month to go trail riding. It was somewhere south of
    Barcelona last year.

One of them is my mate with a KTM 950SM. They are allowing three days
via Bordeaux, but following last year's experience realise they will
have to use a fair amount of autoroute to keep on schedule.

I've often thought the E-902 (A44?) from the coast
(Salobrena) up to Granada looked like a great road.
Never done it on a bike, mind.

  4. Well, me, I suppose. 45 minutes from Málaga. Give me time to put the
    kettle on.

If you are into him, the Dali House and Museum are well worth a visit.

It's on the way at Figueres just before Girona - completely and utterly
off his head and well worth a visit.

Avoid the coast, honestly. You'll be crossing all the time villages which
consist of zillions of summer appartments on both sides of the road with
plenty of semaphores, far away from the sea.

If appreciated, I can give some trip suggestions based on expected arrival
    times.
When near Madrid, Toledo, city of jews, muslims and christians, just in
order to recover from the boredom of the Plain straight roads.

The museum is in Figueres, the house on the coast nearby (about 5 miles
IIRC) the house has 'timed visits' to prevent overcrowding and is fucking
    marvellous.

I have been to the Dali museum and both his houses, and are as you
say, both well worth a visit but I don't think I'll do them again this
time. I will however, probably stay in Cadaques.

County schmounty. The Musée Royeaux in Brussels is where it's at for
surrelist art, whether Dali, Magritte or any other of those bad boys.

  17. He speaks the truth - oh, and in case you don't know, semaphores =
traffic lights. There are lots. And by villages he means big towns as
    well.
