    Newsflash newsflash! Person demands that somebody has to go ahead and fix
    the system then to prove that their concept is valid.

    They didn't have you to teach "unpowered flight" to them John.

    Traffic drugs --> information known to result in death is passed by AFP
    --> arrested --> trial --> penalty

    Not when dealing with such small numbers. The same sort of trend (sic)
    happened earlier in the century with no 'removal of death penalty' then
    reversed itself.

    Then it happened again... we are nor on a downwards _fluctuation_.

    These are noise in the trend line of the graph, which is basically
    static over extended time (seriously).

    IF they had not been smuggling then the penalty wouldn't have applied.

    That they were caught is a direct result (as far as we know) of the
    tipoff. If they had been caught without the tipoff the penalty would
    probably have applied given the current Indonesian political climate.

    THeir being caught is likely a direct result, but the death sentence
    isn't - as shown by not all of them getting it.

    Works for me, should be more of it, perhaps we could subcontract the job of
    dealing with our drug dealers to them.

  15. And send speeding motorcyclists to Singapore for caning. That'd make 'em

    -->years of gaol -->appeals --> please for clemency from family, church and
    politicians--> more decades of gaol--> sentence carried out--> time heals
    the wounds --> usenet argument still continues...

    I've got no problem with the death penalty for murder or for some
    child-molestation and rapes but I won't support it for any "crime" that's
    just a crime because the relevant government says so. (i.e. where no-one is
    getting physically hurt without their consent)

    Being a motorcycle "addict" I can too easily see a parallel between someone
    who provides me a bike to kill myself on and someone who provides me a drug
    to kill myself on (and not ALL dangerous drugs either; just the ones that
    govco says are bad at the moment).

    Besides; the death penalty (and any harsh penalties) will only stop
    rich/smart people doing it. Poor/stupid people will still line up in their
    drives! (Maybe that's the secret; it's actually a plot to clean-up the
    gene pool!)

    But if he'd SOLD the guy some acid he'd get the death sentence in S E Asia!

    What is the difference between a direct result and an inevitable
    result?
