Manuals? We don't need no stinking manuals!

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Rubber Sidedown, May 13, 2006.

  1. Hello,

Just want to let you all know that I have listed a couple of hundred
motorcycle service manuals on www.ebay.com this week (the auctions end
Tuesday the 16th of May between 4:30pm and 5:00pm EST) under the seller
    name "rubber-sidedown".

This set of listings covers mostly Yamaha and Kawasaki models, but there
are also some books for other manufacturers. These hard to find manuals
are generally for older model bikes between the late 70's and mid 90's.
The majority of the listed manuals are not aftermarket Haynes or Clymer
books (although there are a few). Rather, the majority of these books
are officially published directly by the manufacturers themselves. Have
a look; you may find that difficult to run down motorcycle service
manual or manual supplement you have been looking for!

I list new manuals on eBay about once every 2 months or so, and because
of the great response I have received from members of this newsgroup and
others like it, I will leave another message in this group the next time
I put some up for auction, just to keep you all in the loop. Information
    is power.

    Thanks!

Well, finding it on ebay is a mess. I managed to find something after
searching for "reporting spam". Even then the page refers to email
related spam, not usenet spam. But I posted the info anyway.

I found a page, hidden away, with this reference: "Spam (Unsolicited
    Commercial Email) - Overview"

Then I emailed his ISP (through ).

So hopefully at least one of these two things will work.

With all the shite that gets posted on here I'm not going to get excited
    about the odd commercial post.

To eBay? If so, how? I've forgotten.

And since it's almost certainly a commercial enterprise, could one
possibly also go after his ISP/email?

And why is it that people who use the phrase "keep the shiny side up and
the rubber side down" are /always/ utter wankstains?[/QUOTE]

'Coz only a wankstain would think it was witty/intelligent/cool or even
    funny.

Well, I've just got a reply back from ebay, with the usual tripe and
the wanker still has his account. A few more complaints to ebay may do
    the trick. Or not. :-/

I really don't think they GAF. It's more fun to wind the **** up and
sign them up for lots of porn.

Could be worse, could be a dodgy sigsep, top-posting, failure to quote
or attribute properly, or any of the other hundred minor misdemeanours
    that seem to cause hissy-fits.

Life's too short, esp. when there are people with luggage-on-wheels to
    hunt down and maim.

I had to use luggage-on-wheels last week on my trip to Paris.

However, I did the decent thing and got a taxi directly from Liverpool
Street to Waterloo, to avoid having to take the fucking thing on the
    underground.

Two sizes of four-wheeled suitcases, plus a large cabin-bag sized
