    Anyone fancy going?

We're planning to go over on the Friday of practice week and come home
straight after the Senior the following Friday afternoon.

Adie's going to contact the people who sort out the scout palace at
Onchan and if it's available then we'll do the normal anti-****
selection process and get it booked. This is somewhat dependant on us
being able to get it race week only because it gets a bit expensive if
we have to have it for 2 weeks and nobody turns up for the first week.

If we can't get the palace then we'll probably camp at Peel because
it's not a bad site and you get a good selection of pubs within
    walking range.

For those that haven't been to the GP all you need to know is that
it's a lot quieter, you get classic bikes being hammered around the
circuit, you don't get litre bikes, you do get 2 strokes and the
weather should be better than the TT.

Is that *we* know or anyone *you* know?

Several people I know will be riding but I don't think you know any of
them. Not knowing the riders doesn't spoil the enjoyment btw.

Yes, but I'm out of holiday.

    ****, I need to retire.

Which means I need to live without any money.

    <sigh>

    back to work...

My cousins (ex) hubby did the MGP, came 3rd on a ZXR400.

One of my mates won last year's MGP 400 race...by 13 1/2 minutes. He
also won the NW200 400 race in 2007 and 2008, beating the previous lap
    records both times.

Heh, the year Ian did it, Friday racing was postponed until Saturday
due to the weather conditions. So, I had to listen to the race on the
radio. I particularly liked his comment that he 'shat himself' as he
ran onto the kerbs at one point and didn't even think he'd manage to
    finish.

Paul Lewis is another mate of mine. I used to stay at his old gaff in
Maidenhead when I lived in Worksop, if I had stuff to do down this end
of the country. He's a very very funny guy.

    August. Google for the dates.
Working on the basis that we probably won't be able to get the scout
hut and will be camping you're not really missing out.

If you've stopped homestay with people for the TT it's well worth
asking them about stopping with them for the Manx GP?

The homestay I stopped in with Jackie was good and wasn't the room of
    someone who'd gone on holiday.

They certainly do, you'll probably get more choice as well.

I'm too mean to pay the going rate for homestay and if it was just
myself and Adie going I'd probably rely on blagging something.

Already booked. Same digs as in 2006 (the place with a grand piano in
the entrance hall). I suppose I will take the Voxan, though I did
briefly have a mad idea to see if GFR#2 could survive the experience.
