    <Snaggers in, blinking>

A warm "hello" to those who remember me and like me.

A cheerful "**** off, ****" to those who remember me, but don't like
    me.

A sincere "don't forget you owe me 20 quid" to those who don't
    remember me.

A general "**** off" to all of the newbies who've doubtless sprung up
since I last darkened these hallowed halls.

Right, I'm here to talk about motorbikes. Sorry.

In recent weeks I've been giving thought to replacing my much loved/
crashed/mocked 6R because, frankly, it's wankered beyond all belief.

When thinking about a new bike I gave consideration to the following 3
    factors:

    1. I mainly now use my bike for work, which involves carrying a lap-
    top around.

    2. I'm slow

    3. I'm getting old and fat, each with an unstoppable momentum

All of you have now shouted "BMW" should sit down a behave!

Anyway my first though, like that of all old, slow, fat blokes was of
the VFR. I have been put off this path by, apparently, the new ones
being cunts to service[1] and the old ones being fugly.

I considered a Sprint ST, but I don't like them much either.

BMWs ... CALM DOWN! ... are ugly and expensive and I don't like them
    and they're so Germanic.

ZX-10R is too small and insane.

Angle-grinder is of limited use as transport.

So, by a process of seeing something for sale and going "oooooo" I've
arrived at the possibility of an Aprilia Caponord.

In many senses it's ideal for me in that (a) it's a bike and (b) it's
already got hard luggage fitted. However, a quick test ride shows
that it's a lot of fun to ride, but a lot slower than my 6R. I'm
trying to convince myself that I wouldn't mind and that I never go
above 120 these days anyway, but I'm not sure it's taken.

So, I throw myself open to the UKRM vote. Please using the voting
buttons provided to control my life ... now!

    [a] Buy the Caponord
Buy a sports bike, you big puff!
    [c] Buy a ZX-10R, you big puff!
[d] Buy a BMW, you old fucker!
[e] Buy a VFR and hang the expence
[f] Is for "****" har har har
[g] Buy the bike I'm selling
    [h] Buy a 9R
    Who are you?
    [j] Keep the 6R
[k] Sell you bike and **** off, you tedious ****
[l] Where's the money you owe me?
    [m] Say something funny!

Please feel free to vote more than once. It's not like I care or
    anything.

    So, how are you all?

[1] Yes, I was planning to get this one serviced!

Why not make a spotty nerd list of things that get on your tiny pee-
pee and put me on it?

Nice to see you again, you old ****, now tell me what bike to buy.

I think I'm in that category - so "hello" back.
Buy a Benelli Tre-K. Seriously. Or at least get a test ride on one.
They rock mightily, & they're gorgeous.
    Knackered.

if that's the sort of thing you're after, save yourself some misery,
    and buy a V-Strom GT

Suzuki V-strom 1000? With the SV1000 engine and less Italian hype. Getting
Aprilia spares is a pain in the neck.
[n] "strom" is Yiddish for "right for you".

You make some good points, sir, and I have decided against the Capo.

I'd decided against it before I read your post, but that's not the
point. Or if it is the point it's not important.

I suppose I could buy a real litre bike, but I'm scared of them and I
wouldn't have an excuse for going slowly any more.

**** you too, my tuppence worth follows ....
But is an excellent choice despite you being old, fat and slow, which never
stopped the 90+% of ZX-10R buyers before ...
If you know it can't do 120 you'll want to all the time ... If you know the
bike you get can do well over 120 you will still want to occasionally, but
can ride slowly in contentment knowing all you need do is drop a gear and
    roll the throttle on ...
Fine cheers, now **** off and sell me the 6R for £3.24. Seriously though,
what's wrong with it, where are you, any pics of it what do you want for it?
I'm really hankering after a ZXR750H1, which is a bit of a dream I think,
but a cheap 6R might do for now if it's not completely wankered.

That was on the D999 wasn't it? A superb biking road, but

Bwahahaha I will *not*. Far to good for the likes of him. Not exactly a
    daily commuter either.

Clearly he needs a Kawasaki GTR1400 or a new Bandit 1250.
The words Aprilia and Work shouldn't really be connected.
