Jolly rank hat, I know, but I may have found the answer.

    This little devil ... http://tinyurl.com/2ozqr5

Given that there's a couple of places in MCN today giving them away for a
    shade under 7 grand.

Against my requirements list from the other thread ...

    Bigger than a sports 600 - Check

Not as big as a hyper-tourer - Check

Comfortable - Erm, er, quite possibly, yes.

At least as fast as a three-quarters shagged ZX-6R - Check, check, check

OK with luggage - **** it.

Reliable - If I do mad things like running it in, getting it serviced,
washing it, not chucking it at every bit of scenery I go past, etc. It might
    be OK....ish

And it's in budget and, doing that thing you should never do and taking my
own advice, it's one of the most stunningly beautiful bikes I've ever seen -
especially in silver. I've always said, if you do nothing else right at
least buy a bike that you think looks nice, because then you haven't got to
open the garage door every morning and think, "Why did I buy that ugly pile
    of shite".

So, it appears we have a winner. A telephone call tomorrow, me thinks.

Oh, and £466 for fully comp, business use insurance ... I'm very, very old.

FFS Champ was right, you may as well buy a 10R or R1.

    4-T Aprilias are shit.

    Everything's shit ... or hadn't you noticed?

The Aprilia's gorgeous. It might be gorgeous shit, but I'll try to focus on
    the first bit.

So, who's first[1] in the CIHAGM queue?

[1] After me and Eddie, obviously.

It was when I fed all of my requirements past Eddie and he suggested that I
needed a CG125 that I realised I've already got something that will do
lap-tops and luggage and 400 miles in a day, etc.

Um, does anybody know what critical mass is for Italian vehicles?

You've also presumably checked the spares situation, which at least
    used to be rather dire.

Just figured that this may be a useful suggestion given your likelyhood
of making holes in the scenery.
