Massive Motorcycle Convoy

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Tony Pottrell, Oct 17, 2004.

  1. Hi all,

Sorry for the X-post, but my curiosity gets the better of me :)

On the way home this afternoon I found myself in amongst a _massive_ convoy
of motorcycles of various shapes and sizes. I was travelling south on the
M5 and came off at J18, the motorcyles were joining the M5 from the M49 so
were presumeably coming over from Wales. I'd estimate there to be between
400 and 500 bikes, going from as far as I could see up the M49 to the
    Avonmouth bridge and beyond.

Does anyone know what this was all about?

BBC Wales reported that it was some kind of fun run for charity, though I
    can't recall which one.

I'm pretty sure Greybeard said it was the NSPCC - its for the kiddies -
but I'm fairly sure he then threaten to kill you or me (can't quite
remember) so that may not help.
