My friend Tommy Smelser, who is one of the Chairman of one of the Texas
Veterans Groups came by and picked me up at 6:30 and we rode over to the VFW
hall.. Damn.. that place is hard to find.. I think I mentioned to Elmer,
that he needs to find another more visible location for the TMRA II Chapter
meeting.. Elmer has had that flu bug for the past week.. That stuff is
tough..The turnout was light due to the cold, I think.. I want to commend
the ones who made the trip and thank them all for their enthusiastic
participation.. We entertained some esteemed guest.. Jim Foster, candidate
for Dallas County Sheriff (we need this man in that office) Mike Dupree,
chief constable for one of the largest precincts in the state (what a
courageous and man of integrity, he is) Tommey Smelser, who I described
before (another man of integrity and courage) Roberto Alonzo, State
Representative (This one is special and strictly represents his constituents
in Austin) .. It was my privilege to introduce these fine men to the Chapter
and they each addressed us with their plans and goals.. I believe that Elmer
deviated from his normal running of the Chapter meeting in deference to the
honorable guests who were visiting us.. Much appreciated, Elmer.. We were
advised the affair in Mt.Pleasant might be put off for one week due to the
weather reports forecast and seems there is a problem with printers and
their schedules.. We broke up at around 9:00 and everyone seemed to enjoy a
couple of coldbeers and just plain ol' shootin' the shit until just after
10:00.. I think Elmer was close to collapse and we all just kinda drifted
away as the evening came to a close... Thanks again Elmer and all.. Good
meeting and informative.. Our magnificent veterans can breathe just a little
easier, with people like these advocating for them.. Maybe we can all make
the next one and there will be many more to come..

I am glad you mentioned State Representatives. Terry Keel (Rep) was the
sheriff for Travis County about 9 years ago. He is now a State
Representative for District 47. I worked for him while he was sheriff. While
under his command I saw "Witch Hunts" a flagerant disregaurd for the law and I
also saw some lies that were passed off as the truth. These things never
affected me in any real manner other then I just kept a low profile and did my
    job.
I was never threatend by him but I did have some friends terminated and
demoted because they did not go with his line of thinking and spoke out
against his administration. Some of them were given thier rank and jobs back
when he found it was a bad political move to take action against them. I have
seen him break laws and call it justice. (See the Brandon Baugh case spelling
is wrong on last name but the case is about 8 years old) He went into a lawyer
for the defendant with a swat team to find evidence about the case claiming he
had reason to believe the baby was still alive. I feel that everything that I
have personally seen has been politically motivated.I could be wrong but I
have never seen him do anything unless he could reap an award for the actions
Even being a good faithfull Republican I can tell you that I would rather see
    someone else in this posistion.

Sounds like that is one that needs to be replaced.. As advocate for veterans
group and being politically active, as well as advocate for motorcyclists
across the state, I have determined that crossing city, county, and even
state lines is within my means to make a difference.. As you well know, I am
a democrat first.. That being said, you have also seen me erupt over corrupt
officials, no matter what their political persuasion might be.. Corruption
in our political system is the main problem and not the party.. Many of my
very good and close friends are republicans, such as yourself.. I believe
you detest a liar, hate a bully and despise a coward, as I do.. If I can be
of any help to you in correcting a situation you believe is not good for our
state or nation, you must call on me.. We can all make a difference..
regardless of which party we affiliate with..
