Have to go to Mansfield tomorrow (Fri.) morning,
for a meeting, and managed to get out of taking the cage
    so taking the bike instead...

Having never been on this road before i was after
any spots to watch out for as it looks like a "Great"
    Bike road..

Planned route at this stage is:
There: Lilydale - Yarra Glen - Kinglake - Yea - Mansfield.
    Home: Alexandra - Healesville.

If anyone has any added suggestions please let
    them be known...

    Thanks for any info.

Yep. a bit of a paradox here... perhaps better expressed
as a pleasant bike road; however hardly so for good
law abiding citizens that we are.
Snow season still, the bunnies can usually afford to be
relieved of a bit of cash, so they are well cared for.
Even the Yea - Mansfield Rd. is well attended.
I think that the Melba Hwy carries a lot more traffic than the Alex. Rd.,
inc. heavy stuff. There are also some lengthy sections of double line that
    are a pain. There is
also to be a weather change to consider... whatever,
    beware the flashing lights.

See what you meant by a "Blue Spot".... Passed at least
two radars and as i was pulling into town noticed a
helicopter landing. (Later to be told it was the police).

Guess i'll find out in a few weeks if i was naughty.. ;-)

The Alex/Maroondah Hwy road was very quiet traffic
wise, even at 3pm on a Friday arvo...

Ever notice that when you consider passing a slower
vehicle, and it may involve crossing a double white
line, the next oncoming car always looks like a
    police car??? ;-)

    Thanks for that.
I had to go up to Wangaratta on Saturday, and the Glenburn-Flowerdale road
is one I haven't travelled before. Nice little interlude.

It rained between Mansfield and Tolmie. ;-( so I just cruised through.
    Nice bit of country.
Could see oil 'rainbows' on the road at most corners, so I took it a bit
    easy.

Nearly came unstuck on the last bridge before Whitfield. The one that is at
the bottom of a dip with a tightish left hand exit. Powering up the other
side, leaned over into the left hand bend, my front tyre decided it
preferred a bit of road surface a few inches to the right of the one I had
aimed it at. Over the space of about 700 milliseconds it was
    <slip>"shit"<grip><slip>"shit"<grip><slip>"shit"<grip>. I don't enjoy that.

Attended a choral performance at the Cathedral (little sister does a nice
"Te Deum") and cruised back down the Hume. (No way I'd ride through Tolmie
    etc in the dark.)

Lots of Cops about, and three people warned me that there was a blitz on, so
I played the "How close can I keep to 113k/h" game to amuse myself. Feels
    weird passing a truck when he's doing 112 and you're doing 113.

I have a theory that you read all the words in all the posts out loud
    looking for homophonic effects.

He gets the cat to read them out for him.
Coming to Dargo then? Postman Pat will be there!
