Melb Toy Run aus.moto meeting point?

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Dave Milligan, Dec 8, 2004.

  1. Just wondering if the Melb occupants of aus.moto are considering a
meeting point on the way to the Toy Run on Sunday.

In the past it was Clifton Hill Maccas, but I don't know whether
that's still appropriate now that there are several diverging runs
    from Cranbourne and out East.

Also there's been yet another kerfuffle within the MRA and some things
have changed, but I don't know the details.

    Kind regards

    G'day Milligoon,

I'll be along on one run or another, on the VTR250
(FOR SALE!). I'm not keen on being sucked into the Total
Damien Vortex, so I'll probably ride out of town and join
one of the runs which finish at Bikes by the Bay at
Williamstown -- I went along to that a couple of years ago
and it was good fun, some interesting bikes and a couple
    of refreshing beverages.
    Ha ha, surprise me.

  6. Give him a break, Mioke. You know darn well he's too preoccupied with
legal and geography studies to attend!

Didn't see you at the ausmoto dinner I organised with Slej or at Philip
    Island smartypants:p
If you must know my sister is becoming a godmother this sunday and was
too selfish to change the date.
We may still wander over to williamstown later though.

    From www.toyrun.org.au

MELBOURNE. MRA TOY RUN 27. Sunday, December 12. CBD main assembly area
is Latrobe Street near the Flagstaff Gardens. Also check other
Victorian runs which assemble at listed points in the suburbs and
Geelong and then come into Latrobe st. We plan that the lead vehicle, a
Blue Circle truck, will be near Spencer Street facing Telstra Dome. The
Salvos will supply free hot drinks from a mobile canteen near King
Street. We will depart as a single group at 11 am for Bikes By The Bay
(see Williamstown listing). The route will be via the Bolte and West
    Gate Bridges.

Might see you at the Tennis Centre at 10, it's about time I was a
social aus.moto type again. Sharkey, don't be a woose, it's fun to
upset Damien and you'll be able to advertise your bike to a wider
audience, otherwise might see you in Willy.

  11. I'd be careful. My wife just got back from H.A.R.T in Tullamarine where
Kathy Freeman was practicing on her 250cc scooter.

Apparently she looked a little shakey...

Me neither. Brilliant day for it. But constant low speed at constant RPMs is
not what my brand new GSXR600-04 wants at this time during its break in
    period.

If you can give it up, you probably should.

My friend Poida and I went along despite my dubious
state of hungoverness from the BBQ the night before.
Got there just as the convoy was leaving and joined
up at the William St intersection. Got there and
bumping into Cass/Minx while parking. Gave away
some pressies to the Salvos, then bumped into Slej /
UncleScum (?? I think, I keep forgetting who
is who), found Stuey Thyer + Liz, had a couple of beers
at the pub, looked at some bikes, then buggered off
to Stuey & Liz's place for a BBQ. Left just in time
to get rained on crossing the Westgate ...
my god, do the raindrops up there hurt when you're
    tooling along in an open-face.

All in all a pretty relaxing day. Where was the rest of you?
