Yep. And the partly foggy air ensures that if the rain wasn't enough, your
glasses damping will produce excitement enough for the day ['where tf am I
    going'].

I don't trust cars not to leave oil & was riding like a wimp through the
    corners today...

  4. i ride like that every day :) just more so on wet days.

not yet confident enough to corner fast and leaning hard, after 1 year on my
    l's riding 5 days a week 1 hour to work 1 hour back .

maybe need a track day or course or something to get the confidence up.

Would definitely recommend doing a course. Superbikeschool level 1 was great
for learning about how to corner safely. I did my first one in the wet,
which was good as I was paranoid to the level of being a hazard to myself
before - I was treating it like cycling on ice back home in Norway. I found
I could safely lean a fair bit more than I thought... although, in traffic,
having a huge safety margin is always a good thing.

Day 2 on the superbikeschool, in the dry, made me corner like nothing before
:) Followed up by a SAFE cone navigating 'track day' at Sandown, I feel
    reasonably confident in dry cornering.

However, I haven't done a course for some time and would probably benefit
    greatly from doing another one.

u just need to realise that bikes lean over and come back up...its what they
do...really...thousands of times a day...like my first ride in a speedway
car (v8 sprint sedan...not slow!), pretty scared till i realised that these
things do this alla time...then it was ok, 80 mph at a concrete wall, then
suddenly turn left...repeat...and again, cue vehicles ramming u an stuff

    Rubbin's Racin

depends on yr definition of 'leaning hard'...as in...OMG my tyres are not
scrubbed to the edge, i am not leaning hard <<< thats ok
as in...OMG that fella on a goldwing just rode round the outside of me and
buggered off <<< u r probably not leaning hard enuf
