We have a trip planned to Mena Arkansas on August 3-4-5th. My two good
friends and I have to work on Sunday so we will be leaving Mena
sometimes Saturday. Theres me and four others that are going for sure.
We have booked rooms at the Sun Country Inn there in Mena. The phone
number is 877-394-7477. They had plenty of rooms as of this morning.
There may be a total of about seven going. Some have not confirmed yet.
Any of you that would like to come along are welcome too. Get your room
    and join us.

    Talimena Scenic Byway

Preview: A 54-mile winding highway atop the crest of the Ouachita
Mountains. The Talimena Scenic Byway crosses the Ouachita Mountains,
the highest range between the Appalachians and the Rockies. The byway
route varies in elevation from 1,150 to 2,681 feet as it travels the
crest of Rich Mountain and Winding Stair Mountain. The two-lane highway
is paved and has frequent turnouts for scenic and recreational access.
There are some steep grades and sharp curves.

Theres alot of info on the net about it also. I will be comming out of
Arlington,Tx. It takes me about 5 to 6 hours to get there from my
    house.

Come on and join us. You will be glad you did. Its probably the best
    place around here to ride.

The start of the Talimena Scenic Byway is in Mena,Arkansas. Its a small
town with a lot in it. At the other end of the byway, it dumps you into
a town called Talahena, Ok. The byway is about 20 miles or so in
Arkansas and the rest is in Oklahoma. Its twisite heaven. We even saw a
couple black bears early one morning. Theres a lodge on top of one of
the mountains called Queen Wilhelmina. The link is
http://www.queenwilhelmina.com/ It has some pictures and some good
information. I will stay there when I bring my wife. They have nice
rooms also. I stay down in Mena because the best part of the ride is
from Mena up to the lodge. The lodge has great food as well.

    In Mena:

The all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet restaurant on the main drag is
    great. Better than most.

On the way up to the Talimina Parkway, just before leaving Mena... turn
left at the ESSO sign and see the Studebaker museum. It is seldom open
but well worth peeking in the windows.

For Breakfast: It's worth the 20 minute ride up to the Wilhelmina
    Lodge for their buffet breakfast.

That would be real good if you can make it.

Now I'm looking for someone to be at the bar, BAB as we call it in the
industry. Hopefully I can find a good barhide for BAB.

I'm looking forward to meeting and riding w/Redshad and whoever.

Maybe we'll run in Bjay up that way and let him roll our throttles one time.

Heres kinda an overview of what I am doing. Its subject to change at
anytime. My friend here at work has bailed out on the trip. The reason
is because his wife put the whoopin on his ass and is making him stay
home and do laundry and wash her drawers. He claims its his step
daughters birthday Saturday but who knows. The other friend of mine
Brandon is coming in from Houston on Wednesday and he WAS going to stay
with my pussy whooped friend in McKinney. Since my friend in McKinney
got his ass whooped by his woman, theres no since in Brandon riding all
the way there. So Brandon is going to ride in Wednesday to Canton. I
have my travel trailer there so he and I will stay in Canton on
Wednesday night and meet up with you other guys out on I-30 and highway
    19. We now just need to get a time nailed down as to what time to meet
Thursday morning. If you guys will let me know about what time you all
are leaving then it will give me a idea of what time I need to be at
1-30 and highway 19. Thats is of course if thats the route you decide
    to take.

Sounds good to me. We now need to figure out where to meet. Is there a
gas station or a resturant near the intersection there?
