Hope everyone had as good of a time as I did. I hate that Bills
waitress at the lodge wasnt there. I would have liked to see her again
myself. It was good to meet Jerry and Cookie. They seemed like decent
folks that you wouldnt mind to much being seen in public with. That
motorcycle of theres is a nice one. As always it was good to see
Morgan Kane. He showed us all pictures of his baby boy. That is one
good looking kiddo. I have seen BJ so many times times this year
already that I feel like hes Louies kin or something. As always, it
was good to see him and his Valk that hes so proud of. To bad honeyJ
couldnt make the trip. She would have seen that we all arent thugs and
    hippies...just a few of u'all are.

Brian behaved himself all weekend. He didnt have to kick anyones ass
or have any trouble with the hotel folks on this trip. His Blackbird
fit in his hotel room so he was happy. His Blackbird did get wet from
the rain though. I am not sure he slept until it was all cleaned up
and waxed. Louies brand new one got wet also. He broke in his motor
proper this weekend. He gunned it the whole trip. He did take his to
the carwash one time to wash the road grime off from the rain and wet
streets. I hope he did his oil change at 600 miles so he didnt void
his warranty...something tells me he didnt. As always, it was a
    pleasure to see sheriff.

Bill behaved himself also. The Green One seemed to perform good this
weekend. I know Bill was concerned that the carb wasnt tuned in right
but after a spark plug change, it did good. The way he rides that
thing, he probably should change them every trip..lol. Last but not
least is Big Ed. Big Ed ended up toating my woman with him most of the
ride Friday. She wanted to take it easy and look at the sights at a
reasonable speed. As everyone know, Big Ed rides at a slow steady pace
until you point him towards the house. Cindy had a headset in her
helmet so Louie and I could talk to her on the CB to find out there
location. Big Ed kept the CB on the outside speakers so he could hear
what we were saying about him. It was like a PA system..Loud and
clear. We made several announcements to the public too. Thanks Ed for
hauling Cindy around. She had a good time.

Theres not much of a ride report that needs to be typed up since most
all that read and post here was on the trip. We did do the PIGS TAIL
which some havent been on. It was a nice ride and everyone seemed to
enjoy it. Next time we will have to do Eureka Springs. Thanks to all
of you...I know Cindy and I had a great time and never laughed so
    much.

    Until next time,

Good read, Redshad.. Yep.. this was definitely one of those rides to talk
about for a long, long time..

I did appreciate the phone call to make sure I made it to LaCasa in one
piece.. Little. thoughtful things like that make a difference..

From what I understand, Louie hasn't finished his part of the ride, yet..
I'll be looking for him to show up about Wednesday.. right ?

The Mena locals sure have a hard time dealing with outlaws like us, other-
wise .. we'd probably be making that run more often.. lol.. Although.. I
    have
to agree that everyone seemed to be on their best behavior, this trip..

Jerry got just a bit rambunctious a time or two, but the little wife seemed
    to
keep him from getting completely out of hand.. As always, Morgan Kane
was the perfect gentleman and Bjay didn't get too offensive.. Big Ed man-
aged to restrain himself admirably.. but in case no one noticed, every time
that Venture got headed toward the west and south, it sped up considerably..

Got a phone call about stains on the carpet in Brian's room.. It took quite
    a
bit of persuasion to convinec the lady that it was because she uses cheap
towels .. I'm not sure that she is convinced that a Blackbird in the room
    did
not have something to do with those stains.. After all, he did have the
    consid-
eration to put the towels under that thing..

Whew.. the cleanup on that Green Vulcan is going to be a bitch.. That suck-
er looks just like it's been on a run to Mexico, again.. I believe those
    Arkan-
sas bugs are about as tough as the Mexican bugs.. I know for sure, the road
    slime is tough..

Something about a motorcycle running through the back of a garage in Mes-
quite keeps popping up in the news.. hmmm.. Do anyone suppose that Big
Ed forgot to brake when he slid into HOME.. LMAO..

Between him and Brian.. it is daresome to get in front of either, when they
get headed in that direction.. Those two turkeys' will naturally run over
    some-
    one in front of them..

    Later..

Sounds like me and Louie should team up as riding part-
ners, that sounds about like my pace.

    Glad everyone came back OK.

NOOOOOOOO Gary...You mean you and Big Ed would be good riding
partners. If you like to run 100+, then you ride with Louie...If you
like to ride below the speed limit THERE but like to run 80+ on the
way home, then you want to ride with Big Ed.

I guess that's what I meant. I just like to take it easy,
either goin' or comin'. I'm not in any hurry.

I dont think we have anyone that goes easy going both ways. Its either
balls to the wall both directions or slow go and haul ass home. That
slow go kills there kitchen passes so they must haul ass home so they
dont get there ass whooped when they hit the door.

Chuckle, yes that's right, just about the entire tx.moto (regulars) rode
    this trip.

Lets see who didnt? Wakko, hmmm I believe that's it. AFA as daily
    regulars.

May I add: How good were those baloney sandwiches. I recall Cindy was
eating one, sitting by side me. What a lovely wife ya have there.

How about that fellow, riding with a sidecar attached, and had his
wheelchair and walker in it. I was impressed with that. Bill and I
    interviewed him, ya' know.

How about the Race on I-40 for about an hour to Ft. Smith. (chuckle)
Hail, we had to really ''gun'' our motorsikels, to keep up with them
    Barges.
Shoot, ol' Louie, in the lead, hit 90-100 often, so hail' we had to
    ''gun'' em.

I was proud of my Mighty Valk, she hung in there, even though my eye
wear was vibrating, to an extent.
Even though the caddilac in my left eye blurred up, some bit.

Shoot I was impressed with MorganKane, him and his lonely Harley stayed
right in there, with us Six Bangers--- heh-heh-

And I really liked Jerrys Valk Interstate, with all his gadgets.. nice
    Bike, Nice wife.

I was proud of Mr. Walker, the senior ''senior'' along! My lands, how
he can damn well ride, as he has stated on here. I am here to tell ya'll
; He actually rode circles around me. (It was a sight too see) <g>

So hear this; Vic; TimM; Calgary; Ari; and Road Hard Don (whats' his
name) all of Reeky.....‘‘Walker can ride them circles.’’
So be careful what ya' say from now on, bout that ''circle riding
    stuff''. <g>

Oh yeah, dont wanna' over look how good looking that Honda Blackbird
    truly is., and
just how redictulously fast Brian can ride into and thru' a curve. It
    was another sight tooo see.

He whizzed by me once, and within 100 yards ahead, there was a pretty
    sharp left curve.
Now, I was traveling mind you, ''so he'' had to overcome me fairly
speedy, and then he had to do some fancy ''leaning'', to zip through
that particular curve. Some good riding.

Oh yeah, Big Ed, thanks for your fellowship, and a cigar or two, and
thanks for the nice leather gloves. Thanks for leading me thru those
curves at a speed, that gave me the opportunity to enjoy the Arkansas
    Scenery.

I am so glad I got out of Bowie county, for once. Looking forward to
    doing it again, before long.

<grin> Wakko calls Morgan Kane's "that Hot Rod Harley".. That dude
sure puts the pressure on when he's performing, don't he ?

Jerry has got his Valkyrie up to prime and it is done so tasteful, it brings
tears to the eye.. Gotta love it..

hmmm.. Put the bags back on your Valkyrie.. It does look a bit naked
to me without them.. Dang thing will run, though.. even though Louie
contends it is "maintainance deprived".. lol

Those guys on the "barges" really put us through our paces.. that's for
sure.. Everybody sure had to run "quickly".. Excepting for Big Ed.. he's
got his own time and pace..

Ol' Brian does goose that Blackbird, don't he ? He's come alive on that
thing and it fits him really well.. hmmm.. Makes a good room mate, too..

Those "reeky" hands you mentioned.. that pop on and off tx.motorcycles
are mostly eat up with pure envy, when they read about such rides as this
one.. lol.. Some of their posts and responses bring a big smile to my face
    when I read them..

Been telling you that the world doesn't begin and end over at that county
line.. We did that Arkansas thing this time.. We'll be doing the Hill
    country
thing a bit later.. Who knows.. might even coax you into crossing that
international border down south, one of these days.. Meantime.. there will
be another run to Arizona, later on and I bet'cha we'll all be in Mena
    again..

After all.. my favorite waitress wasn't working and I felt short changed,
    even
though I did get an excellent salad to go with my steak.. lol..

I gotta say it.. that ol' boy that had the sidecar rig is definitely a
dedicated biker.. While a few of us complained about our aches
and pains, that dude was figuring out how he could still ride .. in
spite of what's ailing him.. Can't help but admire anyone with that
    kind of intestinal fortitude..

Bill, I enjoy reading of everyone's rides. I don't have enough time
left on this earth, nor enough disposable income to ride to all of the
places on my must ride list. I may have to settle for reading of
    other's escapades in certain areas.

Am I envious? Sure, but there is no shortage of great rides up here
    either.

Weekend after next is a CAV Memorial Ride in Cold Lake Alberta. I'll
be joining my bud Salty to ride in honour of Canada's Vets. Just
recently a Canadian Flag, signed by many of my riding buds and I
completed it's journey across Canada and then was sent to our Canadian
Troops in Kandahar. This months issue of Motorcycle Mojo has an
    article on it.

Two weeks after that is the Stars in Osoyoos. That one is always
guaranteed to be a terrific time.

Next up after that is my Calgary/Yellowstone/Moab trip. Look up Bears
Tooth Pass or the Million Dollar Highway and you will get a taste of
where this one will take us.

July my club is hosting a Rumblin Thru The Rockies meet in High River.

August has me riding to the Cruise In in Kamloops and then taking 99
through Lilloet, Pemberton, Whistler, Horshoe Bay and then on the BC
Ferry Circle Tour. That will take me to the Sunshine Coast/Powel River
across the Georgia Strait to Courtney Vancouver Island. Then three
days exploring the island and then back to the mainland at Tsawwassen
and then home via the interior of BC. Eight days +/-, and twenty-five
hundred miles of the most scenic and technically challenging roads you
will ever ride. Throw in three ferry rides and I am thinking this will
be the run of the year.

Sept has a ride to Laughlin penciled in.

So am I envious of the great rides in Texas and Mexico? You bet, just
the same as I am of missing the great riding roads in all corners of
North America, but that does not mean we have nothing but straight
roads and short runs around here. Canada's Rockies are not called
God's country for nothing, and I am fortunate to have many good riding
buds around here to enjoy them with.

Click on a few of the links I occasionally post of our rides and you
just might find a little envy in those old bones of yours too. In the
meantime please continue to post of your rides. I enjoy reading about
them much more than the pissing and moaning that has haunted this
    forum for so many years.

Also Bill. Do ya remember the feler with the Sidecar, having his brake
also on the left side, along with the ''shifter control'', what a set
    up. Really admire him.
