    Hi Zebee,

A quick question about AS/NZS 3845: can you tell me what the current
state is, or where I can find out? You put something on here recently
to say it was draft and soon to be released for public comment (I
expect it will not change much after then). Presumably to get
information I should write/email to Standards Australia?

Brian Wood of the MCC said when it's released for comment he'll send
ones to the people who volunteered to help go over it.

I'm just passing on info, I don't know much else. Standards Oz are
    probably your best bet.

The site to search is SAI Global but if you do that, you'll find AS/NZS
3845:1999 is the current version, and at present there is no draft of a
replacement available. At $162.09 for the current Standard (in PDF) I
certainly won't be buying a copy.

That is correct. I wouldn't buy it at that price either! I am
currently operating out of an academic institution and things like
journals & standards are all freely accessible to me. Unfortunately I
can't post my copy here because of copyright! You may be able to
access it using a library. I can assure you it's 125 pages of non-
bike boredom (126 intentionally left blank).

The PDF is watermarked with my details and the date/time it was
    retrieved from their library.

It is also protected with DRM: I couldn't put it here if I wanted to.
I just tried to open my copy and got "This document has expired. To
access the current document, please go to your on-line service. Please
note that material accessed via our on-line subscription service is
not intended for off-line storage, and such storage is contrary to the
license under which the service is supplied."

Praise the Lord for DRM! I wasn't aware of those restrictions and
would have inadvertently violated the licence if they hadn't
implemented it using DRM. Fancy a document where some of it can
vanish away after a few weeks as if it were never there. Very 1984.
Lucky I printed it out. I suppose I'll have to scan the printout.
