Mildly pretentious quote...

I would start with Hall of The Mountain Grill, followed by In Search of Space.
Then anything from Hawkwind to PXR5.
You need the Collector's Edition of Space Ritual as the previous CDs were abridged.
Decent copies of Warrior on The Edge of Time are like hens' teeth; most of them
are dodgy (especially Rock Fever CDs).

I think you might be best starting with stuff from the late 70s,
something like 'Astounding Sounds, Amazing Music', 'Quark, Strangeness
    and Charm' or 'PXR5'.

The earlier stuff, while it contains some absolute classics, can be a
bit unpolished in places. The later stuff had a tendency to be very
"Dave Brock (oh, yeah, and Hawkwind were there too)", which is fine if
you like Dave Brock's solo stuff, but not really proper Hawkwind.

If you have trouble obtaining any of it, drop me a line.

I've got it on vinyl (possibly twice), at least one of which is the big
    shield-shaped fold-out edition.

I'm reasonably confident that dog was well aware of the original source
    of that quote.

  7. I used to read a lot of Moorcock. Until I realised that he only has one
theme and that most of his books are just shadows of one Eternal
    Novel..

Errrr... no. I bought them second-hand, and I'd be very surprised if the
place I got them from issued receipts. Amazingly, the company is still
going, but now seems to deal mostly in second-hand CDs.

Yerrss, I did consider that before replying, but the Hudson River
incident was hardly "aiming at the ground and missing". Well, the
    recent airliner one, anyway.
